Word Count: 338
When he had been fettered by the soul, he had only had eyes for the very insipid Buffy Summers and her pure little vampire slayer persona. The soul had turned a blind eye to the fact that Buffy was merely a teenage girl with super powers. Take away the destiny and the angst of being a slayer and all you had left was a girl on the brink of adulthood who was obsessed with the mall, cute boys and her hemline. There was nothing extraordinary underneath the surface, yet the soul had been mesmerized by the packaging.
Once the soul had been removed by the very girl whom he had worshipped, Angelus was no longer a prisoner and was finally free. And in the hallway of the high school, a place that the soul had regularly haunted in the hopes of gaining a glimpse of his pure and saintly Buffy, Angelus had inadvertently discovered Willow. A delectable body was hidden underneath the oversized, fuzzy and colourful sweaters that she wore. He became intimately aware of what was underneath when he had held her tightly pressed against his body.
Her fear had been intoxicating and even more intriguing was the power that was radiating off of her. It wasn’t until later that Angelus had realized that sweet, nerdy little Willow Rosenberg was a witch of great power and she didn’t even realize it. Nor had the Slayer and the other members of her merry band of idiots and Angelus envisioned taking Willow and making her his own.
It wasn’t just about her power that lay dormant within her awaiting the right spark to ignite it, although he was positive that Willow would look delicious with her eyes black as night as she wreaked havoc on Sunnydale and its dim-witted inhabitants. Instead Angelus wanted her because he took perverse amusement in the idea of corrupting a true innocent who had been right under the soul’s nose all this time when the soul had been too busy panting after the Slayer.
