Who: Perrie and Cam. When: Afternoon. Where: HGH and I don't know. Summary: Perrie has been trying hard to avoid him in order to make things easier on them both. Rating: IDK
Perrie was enjoying the warmer weather and just having a sense of normalcy back in her life. Her parents seemed to finally be loosening up their grip on her, not entirely, but enough for her to feel like things were heading back to normal. She had been proving to them that she could be trusted. She went to school, she went to work, she came home and here and there she would go out for dinner with friends, or to their houses for a little while, but she always was back when her parents said she had to return. She was also helping around the house and trying so hard to make things right between them and her.
The hardest and most complicated thing about her life right now was Cam and the situation at school. She was trying her hardest to avoid the sight of him at all cost. She had saw him and Emma together in the hallway between classes her first day back, and it had hurt, even knowing that their relationship was fake. Just seeing Cam with another girl hurt, but Perrie also understood why, why they had to distance themselves from one another, even if it wasn't easy. It was the furthest thing from easy. It just made it easier to prevent herself from seeing him at all, whether it meant taking a different hallway to class, or not eating lunch in the cafeteria, or not going out of a certain door after school. Perrie hated ducking and dodging, but she was worried about them seeing each other, worried about messing up again, worried about making things worse for them both, most of all, she was worried about him getting into trouble. His court date was approaching and the while Emma assured her he would get out of it, Emma had given Cam her word to stay out of it, to not try to talk to parents, nothing that could make it worse for him and she intended to keep her word.
Another long, boring day at school. Of course the rumor mill was still strongly circulating about Emma being pregnant by Cam, along with new rumors of Emma being pregnant and in a love triangle with both Cam and Julian. When somebody would attempt to bring gossip in Perrie's direction, she would shut it down real quick. She wanted no part in it, she wanted to be left alone and the last thing she wanted to hear was lies upon lies started up by Sophia just because she was out to make Perrie miserable and evidently, now Emma as well.
The final bell rang out and Perrie shoved her textbook and notebook into her backpack and got up from her seat, meeting up with friends that waited on her outside her classroom door, the small group of them chattering and laughing together as they made their way to the exits as quickly as they could, counting down to the weekend and making plans for the weekend together.
"One more day," Perrie reminded them as they walked together stopping ever so often so one of them could talk to whatever boy they saw that they were crushing over, or dating at the time. Perrie on the other hand didn't have that problem.
"You need a ride home, P?" Perrie shook her head, "No, I have like two hours before I have to clock in at the restaurant, I figured I'd just catch the bus."
"Public transportation? Like an actual bus?"
Perrie laughed, "What other kind of bus is there?"
One of the girls began talking about all the germs and unsavory types that ride on the public bus.
"I'm just going to work, I'm not trying to find a husband," Perrie joked as they made their way down a staircase and out one of the side doors.
"Are you sure you don't need a ride, P?"
"I'm a big girl, I think I can manage." Perrie answered honestly. "But thank you for offering. It's nice outside today so I don't mind waiting at the bus stop."
"Suit yourself, see you tomorrow, text me later!" The group of girls began splitting up and heading in opposite directions. "Bye!" Perrie said with a wave, watching her social circle quickly disband as her eyes adjusted to the sunlight. She was now standing alone in the school parking lot, which was quickly emptying before her eyes. Perrie began walking across the parking lot and towards the public transit stop which was a small walk away.
She found herself almost through the parking lot when she stopped in her tracks, seeing Cam's car sitting there, him sitting in the driver's seat. Perrie swallowed hard at the sight of him. She felt nerves, all kinds of nerves jumbling around within the pit of her stomach. There was no avoiding him in this situation because she was going to have to walk right past his car. Perrie took a moment to gather herself and compose herself before she started the trek that would involve walking past his car.
Maybe he wouldn't see her? Maybe he'd ignore her? Maybe she'd ignore him? Who was she kidding here?
"Hey stranger," she commented off offhandedly with a polite smile, trying not to make direct eye contact with him.
