Hello, and welcome to our next plot!
In this one, the scenery is as much a plot point as the train's event, and plot points will be awarded both for "interacting" with the scenery (even if it's just watching an event outside the window and introspecting about it) and being involved in the lost-items plot. Since tickets are available, your character can disembark the train and move around in the world of Panem. However, whatever changes they enact in the reality won't impact any characters in game.
In regard to the Panem scenery, if there is an event in the visited district that isn't listed, you're still welcome to have your character witness it, whether it's book canon or head canon for your HG character.
The Plot
The train, in its ire, has taken to hiding things from people. From the important to the inconsequential; from the favored to the 'I barely use that anyway', the train is relocating objects.
Summoning spells, mutant ability to find things, and any other manner of object retrieval won't work. The misplaced items are somewhere on the train -- they just need to be found.
They can be found anywhere on the train -- from the public cars to a stranger's (or an enemy's >:D ) room. This would be a great way to develop some new connections. They can be found stacked on things, buried under things, in drawers, in showers, in bathtubs, anywhere. The only place they will not be found is in the room of the person they belong to. The train won't misplace something within the same room -- that's no fun.
The Scenery
For the six days the train is in this reality, the scenery outside the window will be changing as indicated below. I really did think about adding descriptions and events in detail before deciding a bullet list of ideas was a better way to go. Even if something isn't listed, or if you have specific head-canon for a district for your kid (or just in general), by all means, have at.
Given the nature of the train and the manipulation of time and space, any point in the stated district can be viewed, and the characters can see themselves in the various events. They can see themselves at various points in time on the same day, even.
