July 15 - 31

25 points for plot elements

Well, we've had power loss, and memory loss ... so now we have power swap!

The concept is pretty simple -- characters go to bed with their own powers firmly intact, then wake up with someone else's powers. Given the nature of the plot, characters who are signed up will be signed up for the entire duration of the plot. However, if things seem to be too intense, we'll put it to a poll if we want to shorten it to one week of plot and one week of free play.

You do have to sign up no later than July 13th so I have time to get everyone randomized and a list posted.

A few caveats and addendums ... If a character's power requires a particular conduit (such a wand, ring, staff, or written spell), the character that inherits the power must have access to this to make the power work properly. Please also be aware no character is under any obligation to surrender said items to your character, or teach them how to use their power. It is completely up to the character. Where applicable (as in the case of HP-magic), magical accidents may still happen.

For this case, skills and knacks are not transferable -- it has to be an actual power or mutation. In this plot, vampirism/werewolfism are considered powers and therefore swappable. Any vampire or werewolf who signs up for the swap will become human for the duration of the plot (unless they're swapped with a different vampire or a werewolf), while whoever received their power is then a vampire or werewolf.

Everyone can sign up, even those without powers. In this case, a normal human might inherit a magic or a mutation, and some character who had a power may just become human for the duration of the plot.

In the case of characters who have had spells cast on them by others, those will not transfer. So if part of your character's power comes from a curse/blessing/spell/runic design that someone else put on them, this remains with your character, and is not part of the swap.

When you sign up Harry Potter verse characters, please be sure to indicate their magical strengths/weaknesses, as well as any non-standard skills they may possess. For example, if your character is a legilimens/occlumens/animagus/etc, please note that. If your character can/can't cast wandlessly/wordlessly, please note that as well. In the case of animagi, if your character inherits that ability, they do not have to retain the form that the witch/wizard takes; it can be applied as their own animal form.

In the case of vampires/werewolves, please note any special traits inherent to your fandom's take on vampires/werewolves.

Please explain your character's powers clearly if they are of a more obscure fandom. Use links if necessary. Please be sure to do all the reading on your character's new power prior to engaging in use of said power, assuming your character has the proper equipment/criteria to use said powers. When in doubt, ask the player of the character your character has a power from. I would absolutely like to minimize complaints of "doin it rong" for this. So please pay very careful attention to details.

And I meant to do this last night. Distractions, tired, whatever.

Ron: pretty average magic across the board; no particular magical talents, and takes a couple tries to learn new spells.

Lily Luna: Strengths are transfiguration and DADA, weaknesses are potions and herbology. Average in charms.

Character name: Sirius Black
Description of Powers: HP-wizard; strengths: Transfiguartion, defense; weekness: potions (all in all, he's been top of his class without ever really learning for school); can do a few wandless/wordless spells; animagus

Character name: John Mitchell
Description of Powers: Vampire; he can walk in the sun though his eyes are more sensitive to sunlight; he's stronger than humans (even more so when he is on blood); he heals faster and can literally heal from close to everything though that may take his time (only exceptions being staked or poisened with werewolf blood); he has something like a sixth sense of danger, meaning he knows a few seconds before something horrible happens or someone dangerous approaches that it's going to happen (though you can totally ignore that if you currently do not want him to have that power (they do it all the time in the show)); he's able to identify werewolves by their smell. He eats and drinks like everyone else, he can get drunk and he also doesn't mind garlic. His heart doesn't beat but he breaths. His reflection is not seen in everything that reflects as least as good as silver. He's also not visible on film or photos.

And now we come to the complicated part: In Being Human vampires are described as addicts. It's a simple physical and more importantly psychological addiction to blood. For them it feels good to drink it but they don't need it. The thing is that as long as you don't know that you need it, you wouldn't really want to drink it. You may feel like there is something missing but I doubt that a character would hardly notice it. The moment a character starts to think that he might need blood, the addiction kicks in and a character might get very fond of starring at necks.

The whole cruxify and other religious symbols thing is equally complicated: It's very psychological as well. As long as they don't know that they may be effected by it, they won't. Also if the person it belongs to is close to them, they won't get effected. If those two rules do not kick in, at least Mitchell shies away from them. (It still doesn't keep him from saying "Jesus" or "God" quite a lot, so that's fine).

All right, finished now. I hope I covered everything.

Character name: Laura Kinney "Weapon X-23"
Description of Powers: She's a mutant with: Six metal claws, two in each arm, one in each foot(not sure these would get passed on or not), super heightened senses (all of them, especially smell and taste, and it might be noted that smells 'taste' too), accellerated healing( she once had her neck snapped and it healed within minutes), heightened balance and agility. She is immune to poisons, illnesses, medications, and body born poisons(fatigue for example).(I think that's all that's mutation related. There's more information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-23 )

Character name: Maryanne Walker
Description of Powers: She's a mutant that in simple terms shape shifts into a larger than average sized cougar. The details go like this: Her senses, balance, agility, and strength( to an extent) are heightened. Her healing is excelled a little without shifting, but wounds and breaks are healed by shifting alone. I use Being Human werewolf physics with this http://youtu.be/FXZs38hpC6c which can be seen there. It is painful. Focus is what's needed to prevent from shifting, because it will happen with extreme emotions. There's in betweens, from the animal and human, but it takes a great deal of focus, and two weeks isn't long enough to learn that. <3 BUT she is nice enough to help where she can. Even with people she doesn't like, pity goes a long way with people she doesn't like. She moon does not control the shift. The vocal cords stay intact, so the voice will be deeper, more growly, but speech is capable. The animal has a consciousness, but it will cooperate and 'let in' the dominating consciousness. It comes with an understanding of animals, kinda like 'if my dog could talk what would he say'. But they are animals, they aren't going to be having whole intelligent conversations with a mouse. Or any other animal for that matter. Unless there's a human that's changed into one. She's got a bit of an early warning signal for danger, hair stands up on end and a tingle runs down her spine. Not really spidey-sense, but more like a 'don't go in there' or 'don't do that' sense. (-.- I might have watched a few to many documentaries on animal behavior in developing this character. I obsess.) Any questions ask me, cause she is an OC.

Character name: George Sands
Description of Powers: George is a Being human werewolf. But can only change with a full moon. (Not sure if this would transfer over but) Because of the lack of a moon the Being Human werewolves get very angry inside their hosts heads when they cannot get their due. So George suffers from Werewolf Tourette's spells, where he spouts curse words randomly in a very stuttered forced fashion. He also suffers from anger management issues, George can control it to an extent, but any extreme jackassery will be met with extreme violence. (>.> We're lucky he hasn't humanly nommed on Cutler by now.) Because it's the wolf that's trying to take over in those moments. The wolf has it's own consciousness, meaning he feels in his mind the wolfs anger, aggression, and 'prowling'. Others can be turned by a scratch or a bite while transforming or in full werewolf form (but since there is no full moon in this plot that's more for fact's sake than anything else). As a human, other humans cannot be infected. More information can be found here: http://beinghuman.wikia.com/wiki/Werewolf

While her claws would pass, so would her healing factor -- but not the adamantium. Wouldn't that leave her open to a slow death by adamantium poisoning? It's why I didn't sign Logan up.

They actually did a comic about Logan being "human" and still having the adamantium. I didn't read it but read about it (and pestered a friend that works in a comic book store >.>). Even with as much as he has in him it was taking months for him to die. And it actually starts out like most metal poisonings with fever, fatigue, general bleh feeling (aches and pains and whatnot), eventually advancing to vomiting and other ick as the months wear on, so if you wanted to put him in he wouldn't die within the two weeks he'd just feel like he's come down with the flu. But Laura only has it on her claws if her claws pass on there's no where for it to be in her body. Maybe it just poofs to train space till she gets her powers back?

Character name: Toph Beifong
Description of Powers: Earthbending and Metalbending.
Earthbending is, funnily enough, the ability to manipulate the earth in all its forms. As a bending art, earthbending has a basis in martial arts. So it's not quite as simple as standing there willing the earth to do your bidding with your mind. There are specific forms and movements that allow you to manipulate the earth in different ways. Earthbending, like the earth, is more about weathering attacks and waiting to strike. As such, it's quite a defensive art that favours standing firm and blocking, coupled with strong, decisive movements. That said, earthbenders can certainly pack a punch. Being on the train makes earthbending a little tricky though. Luckily Toph invented metalbending! Metalbending is a subset of earthbending, and therefore follows a similar set of rules. Toph is still in the process of developing it though, so she doesn't quite have the 'range' on it that she does with her earthbending. She still has to be quite close to, or preferably in contact with, the metal she wants to bend.

Character name: Nick Cutler
Description of Powers: Being Human Vampire.
BH vampires are immortal unless staked or given werewolf blood.. or blown/burned/ripped to pieces (mostly). In bloodnom mode, their eyes go black and their fangs protrude. They have superhuman strength/reflexes (which are heightened when they're on blood), senses (including the ability to smell werewolves) and healing (although if they lose a significant amount of blood, they'll need to get that back). Sunlight doesn't harm them, but they can be a little sensitive to it. Same with garlic. Religious symbols/texts/etc. can repel them. BH vampires don't reflect in 'silver backed' things - the obvious one being mirrors. They do reflect in windows, etc. though. They do not show up on camera/film. BH vampires can eat normal food and gain sustenance from it - they do not need blood to survive. But! They have a very intense desire for the stuff. And freshness is an issue as well, with old blood doing very little to satisfy their cravings. Blood withdrawal is also very intense, with your shakes and your sweats and rather painful looking cramps. Plus the part where they're haunted by all their evils. :( All designed for you to say screw it, more blood please. Cutler is very much addicted.. if that carries over. XD

Character name: Alex Mayhew
Description of Powers: Being Human Ghost.
BH ghosts are disembodied spirits that have failed to pass on (ie - they're dead and they don't have a body). So they can't die again or get hurt or any of those nasty things. They do have a form though and they can interact normally with a number of things. They are stuck in the clothes they died in though. They don't eat/drink or sleep or bathroom. BH ghosts can teleport(/rent-a-ghost) and they can take non-living things with them when they do. They have telekinetic abilities as well - being able to call objects to them and push objects away without actually touching them. Not so relevant on the train, but off the train ghosts are invisible to normal humans and can make others invisible by 'swaddling' them with their clothes. When BH ghosts get emotional they can cause electrical disturbances (lights/appliances/interference). Oh, and they can 'taste' through other people. Alex is relatively new to the whole ghost thing, but Annie has taught her a few tricks so her ghost powers are developing nicely.

Character name: Asami Sato
Description of Powers: Normal human.

Character name: Rudy Wade
Description of Powers: Emotional Duplication.
To put it simply, in emotionally charged situations, the person duplicates - their other form being the embodiment of the emotions they're trying to repress. Thus, they can have varying opinions/outlooks/etc. on a certain situation. It's a good way to argue with yourself.

I also have a few of questions. (Sorry, they wouldn't fit above. >.<) I hope it's okay to put them here. Firstly, is it a direct swap? So A <-> B. Or could person A get person B's power, whilst person C got person A's power and person A got C's or D's or so on? Secondly, is the power swapping random, or can people request? And thirdly, are ghosts included? I put Alex on there, but if not, she can be left out.

No. It's going to be: character list, power list, and both are going to be randomized and matched up across the board (and then edited if a character winds up with their own power, or too many humans are swapped with humans). The reason I didn't go with a direct A <-> B <-> A swap is because of the possibility of uneven numbers. That leaves someone out.

It is going to be random. Requests would skew it and make it more work than it already is.

And yes. I did mean to include ghosts in the werewolves/vampires clause. I guess being dead is kind of a power >:D And it'll be interesting for whoever gets ghosted.

Character name: Grey White
Description of Powers: None - normal human

Character name: Annie Sawyer
Description of Powers: Ghost. She can't change her clothes (though they do alter a little depending on situation), she can't eat or sleep, but she can taste via others (this is a learnt skill), cause electronic failures (blown lights etc) when overemotional, teleport, use telekinesis. She also feels cold to the touch.

Character name: Daisy Hannigan-Spiteri
Description of Powers: Vampire. She can go out in the sun, isn't affected by garlic, is affected by religious objects only if they person using them against her believes in them. Her eyes turn black and she has visible fangs when in vampire mode (to drink or scare people for example) the rest of the time she looks normal. She has no reflection in mirrors and doesn't show up on camera. She's stronger than normal humans and heal quicker. Though she's a vampires there's every chance anyone getting her powers wouldn't need blood. Being Human vampires don't need it to survive. The main reason they continue to drink is because without it they remember everything about the people they've killed and how it happened, but without any of that a person might just feel like something's missing, whether they chose to drink blood or not is up to them.

Character name: Santana Lopez
Description of Powers: None, she's a human

Character name: Karolina Dean
Description of Powers: Alien from planet Majesdane; in her true form, she has a fluid, ethereal form and has been mistaken for an angel. Her powers originate from the sun (she must sunbathe to recharge them) and include the ability to fly and the ability to manipulate solar energy - anything from a thin beam of light that can have a laser-like effect to creating gigantic force-fields. Because her powers come from the sun, Karolina's blood is deadly to vampires. Karolina wears a MedAlert bracelet made from Majesdanian metal that suppresses her true form and her ability to use those powers (except the deadly-blood thing, that isn't suppressed by the bracelet). Once she finds the person who has her powers, she'll likely offer to lend it to them for the duration of the plot. Also note that Karolina has not told anyone she is an alien - she's told everyone she is a mutant.

Character name: Damon Salvatore
Description of Powers: Vampire | Increased strength, speed and hearing. Burns in daylight without the aid of a spelled ring (which he will not be giving anyone). Has to drink blood to survive (human or animal - human is preferable for maximum strength and ability) but can eat and drink normal food. Can sleep but doesn't have to. Can breathe but doesn't have to. Can control the minds of humans through compulsion. To compel, the vampire must look into the eyes of the human and will them to believe what they're telling them. This can be used to give or take memories, make someone do your bidding, calm down someone who's hysterical or make someone think what you wish them to think. This skill comes with practice. TVD vampires' fangs are not visible all the time - when they feel bloodlust, their canine teeth (and, in some cases, one or both teeth on either side of each canine) extend through the gums, causing an uncomfortable stinging pain, while blood rushes to their eyes, making the surrounding veins darken and stand out and the white of the eye take on a red, bloodshot appearance. TVD vampires can bite humans without killing them if they concentrate; although, with new vampires, bloodlust often takes over. Being bitten by a TVD vampire does not turn the victim into a vampire also - the human must ingest vampire blood and die with the blood in their system before waking up in transition (usually after an hour or two). To complete the transition, a turning vampire must consume human blood, no matter the amount.

TVD vampires heal very quickly. A deep cut would heal itself in a matter of seconds. This is at it's peak when the vampire is on a diet of human blood. Vampire can be killed with fire, a wooden stake through the heart, sunlight or having their heart or head removed from their body, otherwise they are immortal and unaging. The herb vervain is toxic to vampires and severely weakens them but would only kill them in very large and repeated doses.

All vampire myths not mentioned above (garlic, holy water, crucifixes, mirrors etc) do not apply to TVD vampires.

Character name: Simon Lewis
Description of Powers: Vampire (Mortal Instruments/Infernal Devices universe) Most of the usual vampire abilities apply: enhanced strength, speed, reflexes, healing, and senses. They do not need to breathe or have heartbeats and are immortal. MI vampires can also mesmerize or glamor humans to some degree, like in the True Blood universe but not quite as extensive. They cannot tolerate sunlight without being burned/killed, although Simon can because he drank Nephilim blood so I don’t think his daylighting ability would carry over with the switch. MI vampires have retractable fangs and they do need blood to survive. They cannot eat/digest anything else. They do have reflections but they cannot however touch any kind of religious symbols, Christian or otherwise. They can also not physically say the word “God” in any form, they will literally choke or stumble over the word without being able to speak it. More information can be found here!

Character name: Clary Fray
Description of Powers: Clary is stronger and faster than a regular human being (although less than a vampire). She has angelic blood running through her body which allows for a couple things:
a) the ability to mark herself (and/or other shadowhunters) with runes -- each rune acts as an enhancer to a physical or mental aspect (healing runes, fearless runes, clairvoyant runes, etc.) Included in this is Clary has a particularly special ability to create her own runes, so the possibilities really are endless. However, these runes have to be drawn on by an instrument called a stele.
b) if a vampire were to drink enough of her blood, they would gain the ability to walk in sunlight (due to the angelic blood business)

Anyway, if this sort of thing doesn't carry over because shadowhunters are a little weirdddd, then signing her up as regular human.

Thanks!

Character name: Buffy Summers
Description of Powers: She's the slayer so they have superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, durability, accelerated healing, a limited ability to sense supernatural activity, the collective memories of all past Slayers, and precognitive dreams. With the dreams that's usually when something bad was coming so not a big deal on the train. The ability to sense supernatural activity is one that needs to be trained. You can tell when a vampire is in the room by the hair standing up on the back of your neck, but if the room is crowded you wouldn't be able to pick them out. She heals faster than normal people and doesn't need that much sleep causing her to be up in the late hours. Skilled in weapons and fighting, but some of that comes with training. They would be able to throw a weapon at their target without an issue or hurting from it.

Character name: Piper Halliwell
Description of Powers: Molecular Immobilization (freezing) and she tends to toss her hands up causing objects around her to freeze. She can freeze higher up demons, but some are also able to get out of it. For someone just getting the power, they probably will need to focus and be in the same room with the object with it in their view to freeze it. With practice they can unfreeze certain things while freezing other things such as unfreezing a persons head to talk to them without unfreezing the rest of their body. This power is triggered by fear, frustration, and panic that caused her to use them at times when she got scared. Her other power is Molecular Combustion which is like blowing things up with her hands. This one is pretty easy to figure out in that she tends to make things look like they explode and she can use this on some demons, but upper level demons don't always vanish from it. She can send energy balls back at people with this though she might get sent back as well from the ripple effects. Also some of the bigger objects might take a while to blow up. This power is stronger than her other one and is triggered by anger causing this one to be a huge problem. The person that ends up with this might be blowing up things more than freezing things because they won't know how to control the power. She also has the other normal witch skills like potions, etc.

I think I have enough information but if not the person can always ask me.

This was slightly messy ..so attempted to make it less messy. Plus added Simon. XD

Character name: Hermione Granger
Description of Powers: Hermione is a witch from the Harry Potter fandom and she's particularly adept at using these talents too. Hermione's generally skilled across the board. But she is not especially super-dooper instantly powerful in any ONE area ..if that makes sense. If she wants to become exceptional at anything in particular, she's got to study/work at it and attempt to make it happen. She is exceptionally bright and studious, but not simply naturally gifted with the all powerfuls instantly. Which is why anything she can't improve on via these methods scares her a little.

She can brew potions very well, but again it's more through her efforts to be precise, patient and having directions to follow – it's not a natural talent, so you would have the magical ability to brew a potion, but it might turn out crap still.

She can perform wordless/non-verbal magic – minor spells, defensive spells.

I don't know how helpful this is. - basically, you're good with the magics and well rounded in all areas, but not crazy powerful.

Character name: Nina Pickering
Description of Powers: A Werewolf from Being Human – where Vampires represent struggles with addiction, Werewolves are totally like having an angry drunk side that is completely out of control? You spend the night being a rage-filled violent beast and then don't remember a single thing the next day. BUT – their change requires the full moon. So unless there's one, you're not going to wolf it up. Having said that the wolf is always 'present' in it's human host, so when you take on this power – it's not quite a voice in your head telling you to go burn things, but it means your temper is shorter, you get pissed off more easily and snap. Instead of rolling your eyes at someone you might suddenly feel the urge to react more harshly.

In general it heightens emotions and senses (especially emotions at the moment – due to lack of full moon) think of it like there being a cagey beast on the inside that makes you react to things sometimes irrationally (omg like PMS or wot ladies – sorry. Dreadful XD )

- People who before just tick you off might now be rage inducing.
- Someone you're attracted to? Well you might just suddenly be more inclined to want to jump their bones instead of just considering they fact they're pretty. This does not mean you want to sex everything that moves. There would have to be a sort of prior attraction, previous feelings or so on.
- Smell, vision and taste are heightened. (A little sharper than usual humans normally, and then exceptionally sharp close to the full moon – again there's no full moon so. lol)

Character name: Kaylee Frye
Description of Powers: Normal Human

Character name: Simon Bellamy
Description of Powers: 'Immunity' – Simon is immune to the effects of other people's super/mutant powers. It is constantly switched on, there is no need to learn how to 'activate' it. It works on both powers that require contact and ones that do not. So if your power influences/harms people in some way when you touch then it won't work on Simon, if your power allows you to read the mind of someone simply standing near you, you won't be able to read Simon's thoughts.

It does NOT neutralise powers ..so say in the case of someone with healing powers, they could heal the dudes either side of Simon/themselves fine, but when it came to healing Simon, the powers just would not work on him.

He is still vulnerable to magic spells and potions from witches and wizards and train mojo!

Description of Powers: Human - affinity with animals

Character name: Nick Cutter
Description of Powers: Human - very intelligent and logical

Character name: The Doctor
Description of Powers: Gallifrayian. A near photographic memory, though the information sometimes gets confused due to there being almost a thousand years of knowledge and memories. Has two hearts, and can regenerate when near to death.

Character name: Jaz Parks
Description of Powers: Eldhayr - human warrior brought back from the dead to fight for humanity against evil. Jaz was one of the CIA's best assassins. A combat veteran and weapons expert, and the leader of a team of Helsingers (vampire hunters).

Can sense vampires, and 'smell' their scents, which allows her to track them as well as gleen information about their powers.

Jaz has an uncanny sense of direction.

A martial arts expert. Was a 1st degree black-belt at Tae Kwan do aged 11, and is now a 5th degree black-belt. In the meantime she's picked up other martial art styles to add to her repertoire, but Tae Kwan do will always be her favorite.

Can astrally project, and communicate with the real world from the astral plane, as long as she's trying to contact a sensitive, supernatural or psychic.

Can cause sudden and deadly fires, that used to be linked to her own violent emotions. She has this more or less under control, though does cause the occasional unexpected fire. Jaz almost never uses this ability, as the fires also burn up a part of her soul.
Enhanced vision.

For your two humans, unless intelligence and the animal affinity are actual powers, they shouldn't be listed. This is just for actual mutations/magic/super-powers; skills aren't passable for this one.
