Logan almost wondered how he'd missed her arrival. He guessed, to be fair, he'd been exceptionally busy with other things, and if she'd only shown up the day before ... well, it wasn't really that much time to have missed her. Still, the idea that they were separated by a couple of years in their timelines was unnerving. It left he wondering what he'd missed. What had happened. And it was yet another person here who knew more about him than he knew himself. He was glad she was here, but he hated the thought of it, too. The idea she'd be exposed to hallucinogens and murderers and whatever else the train was inclined to throw at them. It might not be anything, but it might be something worse. The train did have a tendency to play off their fears and it somehow knew the best way to get under their skin. Curious how she'd changed in the years since he'd last seen her, Logan moved to highway, gazing along the length of it in the direction of the train to wait for her to head along it. Then he shrugged and started to stroll in that direction; he could always meet her half-way and walk with her back to town. |
