Maryanne had been moving through the train cars at a clipped pace, trying to reach the entertainment car before someone else did, and bogarted the big TV. But she was stopped the moment she opened the forward Parlor car door. This wasn't the room she remembered. It was the woods. The very ones she'd been snatched from just before she came here. Glancing behind her.... That car was gone too. Fear rode up her spine in a cold quiver. She could feel the sweat beading up over her skin, from the musky swamp heat. She could feel all the hair on her body standing on end. Danger was near. Flaring her nostrils she took in a deep long breath. Danger... And guns. Backing up she met the face of a tree. Without thought for the things she wore, which was -unfortunately- a common place in the woods, she dropped to her knees. Bones, muscle and flesh began to move. Her body began to stretch as fur grew from her pores. Her face stretched, her organs shifted and changed. So used to the change she didn't scream anymore. She simply rode out the pain in silence. Because a scream could mean your death. A scream would tell them where you were, at the very least. Once the change was complete, all that was left behind was tattered clothes. With a few kicks of her hind legs she managed to cover them with leaves(or just rip the carpet with inch long claws). Prowling forward once the evidence of human life was hidden, she listened intently for any movement, any shuffle of dried leaves, snaps of twigs or... simply the heavy breath of an out of shape man. Maryanne didn't hear any of this. She also didn't hear the silent whisk of the tranquilizer dart before it crashed into her fur covered flesh. When she opened her mouth an inhuman growl ripped from it. There was no time to use caution anymore, they had found her. Turning back, away from where the dart had struck her, she launching herself forward she darted through the trees, (and into the dinning car) before seven more darts struck her. Even an elephant will go down after so much traq. Fighting as much as she could she crashed into a few saplings( or a table and chairs) before one final dart took her down. Everything was black when she woke. She could feel a collar around her neck. That wasn't good. The last time she'd had a collar she hadn't been able to change back, though what her captors didn't know is she still carried the human thought process into her animal form. They had gotten smarter, pad locking it on rather than using a simple belt like collar. As her vision began to clear, legs (chairs and tables) were surrounding her they stood over her with electric cow prods. A low inhuman growl rumbled in her throat, as a desperate warning hiss parted her lips. Dropping her head her ears flattened against it. Her tail whipped around so they would not mistake the agitation for anything else. Maryanne didn't know if she hoped they were stupid, and managed to believe she was a real Mountain Lion, or not. If they did they might kill her outright. But who was to say they wouldn't anyway? The Purifiers weren't known to take prisoners. Or if they did, they didn't stay alive for long. She'd have to take her chances with the stun rods. She gave one last warning growl. If she didn't have to kill anybody she didn't want too. One asshole prodded her in the butt with a stun stick. Well... they asked for it. All hell broke loose. She grabbed the leg(a chair leg) closest to her and sunk her teeth into it. Shaking her head she heard the bone snap before the man (or chair) went down. She could smell singed fur as she dove into the next man(or table). When it collapsed beneath her she broke away. Bowling through men(more tables and chairs) as she looked for a way out. |
