Summary: April plays around with the train
Status: Complete
April really didn't mind the train. She didn't exactly mind that she was trapped here, if only because ... well, she'd taken risks and pretty much put herself here. She'd known there was a chance of it, and if she'd really been fussed about it, she would have left the soap and Jake's phone, and made Roland leave the pillow case. But ... here they were, and that was fine. It was just another adventure. All the same, she was glad she'd packed the extra bag and brought her sword along, and had it attached to herself when she wound up on the train. With everyone else on board apparently having swords, she was sure she'd find someone to spar with. There was always Roland, if nothing else, and she was sure he'd track her down eventually. It took her nearly twenty minutes of opening and closing the door before she found something appropriate, and she made sure to prop the door open behind herself so whoever wandered by could join her -- she wasn't sure if she had to prop it open when she was in it, but she'd heard around that the way to keep the room the same was to leave the door open. Stepping inside, April surveyed what she'd found. It looked like a fairly standard archery range, though the targets seemed ridiculously close. Still, practice made perfect and all that. Setting her sword aside along one wall, April tested a few of the available bows before finding one that suited her. She selected the appropriate set of arrows as well before she lined herself up with the target. Nocking an arrow to the string, she took aim and released it. It went higher than she'd intended, so clearly she had to adjust her aim. In fairness, this wasn't her bow, so of course there was going to be a learning curve. But ... it was something to do, and some way to expend the energy she had in a useful, non-annoying way. |
