There was no work on Sundays
Characters: April, River Song
When: Sunday late morning-ish
Location: Near but not on the train
Warnings/Rating: None anticipated
Summary: April meets another train person
Status: Private, ongoing
April had twined the soap and cord around her wrist, the decorative soap lightly cupped in her palm as she regarded the train. Well, the door, really, but the whole train was interesting to look at. Sometimes, she saw people crossing by windows, and very occasionally she heard a voice or two, muffled, coming from inside. She knew she should leave it alone, because nothing good would come of her continued presence around the place, but she was fascinated by it. There were people there from other worlds and she wanted to meet more than just the one. She had questions now. Questions she wanted to ask, questions she really wanted answers to. Just in case she and Roland were actually trapped on it now (which she still wasn't sure if she was or not), she wanted to have an idea of what she was getting into. A better idea than the one Jaime had painted for them. Picking up the phone she'd found in the pillow-case, she thumbed through the network posts, and she kind of thought about going to one of the ATMs just to see what really happened (and she felt a giddy little giggle threatening at that thought), but she'd rather watch the train to see if anyone came off of it. She wondered how it looked to the people passing by who couldn't see the train. Was someone just suddenly there, in front of them? But ... in the city, who'd notice? People were always just suddenly there because no one was ever paying attention to anyone but themselves. Setting the phone onto her thigh, she balanced it carefully as she continued to watch, and to wait. Because surely, someone was bound to be coming or going. She didn't want to actually get onto the train -- just in case -- but she did want to talk to the people from it. |
