When Emma woke up, she groaned slightly as she moved to turn over for some more sleep until everything hit her on what had been going on. Emma sat up quickly as the past few days came crashing down on her. The train managed to bring her back to seventeen right back to a time when she had been happy. Probably the only time she had been happy or at least until Henry found her because she was happy with the boy that turned out to be her son. Yes, the boy reminded her so much of Neal, but it was probably the only thing that man gave her that was good in life anymore. Pulling her legs up to her chest, she felt like a scared little girl as she rocked herself back and forth while thinking everything over. She knew exactly where the train had brought her back to and as she thought about it the whole thing made her sick. Neal should have come to get her so they could go start their life together. When Emma found out she was pregnant, her and Neal should have raised Henry together like a family. Only the man that she loved for the first time in all her life who she trusted had set her up like an idiot. Emma should have known better, but she was in love and stupid at seventeen it seemed. The fact he left her to take the fall for the watches when she never stole them to begin with. Her eyes closed as she remembered the court trail and everything that went along with it. To hear that she had 11 months for a crime she didn’t even commit, but one she was trying to help the man that she loved out. So much for trusting people, right? Emma remembered how that bastard sent her the keys to the car they both stole with the keychain that she turned into a necklace. Did he think that made up for everything? No, and on top of getting those keys she found out that she was pregnant with who turned out to be Henry and she was all alone like she had always been. Henry deserved his best chance and it wasn’t with her causing her to put him up for adoption. To make matter worse Emma hadn’t learned because once she got out, she figured with the gift that he would be waiting for her. The question from Regina on the longest place Emma had ever stayed burned in her mind. Emma had gone to Florida, hoping to find Neal and waited for two years but he never showed up. That was when she decided to never ever let another person in. No one could be trusted as people only watched out for themselves. Kicking her bed, she knew she would have to track Myka down to apologize for the way she had been acting, but she had to go see Henry. Even if it hurt right now with all the fresh memories of Neal, she had to see her son. Leaving her room, she made her way to Henry’s room, stopping at the sight of the door. “No,” she said to herself, fighting back the urge to cry. How could the train do this to her? At least he was still alive in their world, thanks to her but he was gone like everyone else she cared about. Turning around she went back towards her room. Emma knew he would never share a room with Regina so she didn’t even check that door. Going back into her room, she kicked the door close before moving to take a shower. Emma stepped into the hot shower and slid down on the wall as she started to cry. Why couldn’t the train let her be happy? This was the story of her life. Emma figured she was meant to be all alone. |
