Jess kept her eye trained on Prim as she walked further into the room and shut the door. Her eyes moved to Buttercup for a moment as the cat was placed on the floor. It was a pretty kitty and maybe the seemingly nice woman would let her play with it later.
"Yes ma'am" she replied a slight sadness taking over her features. This place was slightly scary and she missed her momma and daddy. Jess had never been away from them for more than a minute or two and this was a whole new experience. One that was frightening as she couldn't remember how she'd gotten here. At hearing Prim say her name she sounded it out, "Priimm-Roze" though her "s" sounded more like a "z."
When Prim pointed to Buttercup she looked down at the yellow cat and observed it some more. "Budder-cup" she said in response. Jess wasn't entirely sure whether Prim would find her repeating words as a nuisance but when she learned new words this is what she would do. Sound them out to make sure that she was pronouncing them right. The woman who came to their house to teach her said that she would be very smart someday if she continued to do so. "Where am I?" she asked.
