Nick's body followed hers until he settled comfortably on top of her while they kissed. When it broke, he opened his eyes and met her gaze. He smiled gently down at her, curious if she had something to say, but since he couldn't verbally prompt her, he just waited patiently to see if they were going to resume the kiss or something else.
The question didn't require very much thought on his part -- it was something he'd already decided. He nodded a yes, and he did notice and appreciate the way she framed her questions, especially when they had conversations in positions like this.
While he answered quickly, it was only because he'd already gone back and forth a few times since hearing about a possible rescue. He still did feel a touch of guilt -- like he was abandoning his friends back home, giving up on his part of the whole thing -- but if what everyone said was true, he hadn't actually disappeared. Plus, if the bomb went off, he was dead.
If he had the chance at a life, to explore his growing relationship with Lily, he wanted that.
