Through the Quiet
Characters: Prim, open
When: Sunday
Location: train corridors
Warnings/Rating: None anticipated
Summary: Prim roams the train and is kind of bored
Status: Open, ongoing
Prim had more or less adjusted to the idea of Katniss, Gale, and Peeta being gone. Gale's girlfriend was still around, and they'd spoken a few times, but they had very little in common otherwise. Prim wasn't oblivious to the fact the train seemed to be ... fading. Her sister and her friends were far from the only people to be sent home, and she wondered what, if anything, it meant. She'd heard a few theories when she'd been sitting in the infirmary -- some people still treated her enough like a child that she overheard things the might otherwise not have mentioned around her -- but she didn't know what to believe. They were just theories, after all. It wasn't like anyone actually knew what was going on. She knew they were supposedly being rescued, and she knew some people thought this massive purge was part of it. Prim guessed it would make sense, even if that wasn't how the rescue had (supposedly) been explained to the people who'd spoken to the woman. But maybe they hadn't known this might happen. All the same, the quiet was almost eerie at times. At least she still had Buttercup here, and that was something. Trailing her fingertips along the wall, Prim was at least glad for the absence of the Dementors. Her one encounter with them had been more than enough for her, and she herself wasn't being directly (or even really indirectly) affected by this current event -- and she was glad for that, too. Exhaling softly, Prim crossed through the library. She gave some thought to lingering there, but she wasn't really in a mood to read. So she continued along, hoping for some sort of distraction. |
