Myka was still adjusting to the new room that she had been given. It wasn't that different from the one she had inhabited before but it was still a new space. Since the train had allowed them all back on in Narnia she had noticed that they were a few cars shorter than before. The missing cars answered for why she'd been given a new room. Myka sincerely hoped that this wasn't the "solution" that Bridget had spoken about. If it was she failed to see how shrinking the train and making the passengers feel even more cramped and irritated was wise. Days began to pass. Each one bringing them closer and closer to the "rescue." While most were skeptical about it ever happening, she was hold out hope. Holding on to the hope of finally being off the train and away from its schemes made the situation all that much better. With each passing day it seemed that more and more were disappearing from the train. At the rate they were going there would be hardly anyone left to "rescue" when the time came. The massive surge of disappearee's had happened once before following them leaving China. When she awoke Sunday around mid-morning, Myka quickly showered and threw on a clean pair of clothing for the day. As she walked through the cars to the kitchen, she noticed the doors void of names. Sometime over night the train had done another purge just adding to the cold chill that lurked on the train. The walk to the front kitchen went off relatively smooth. Myka had been able to quickly flee the cars that held an even greater chill. Her instincts telling her that whatever creatures that were lurking were nearby. Upon entering the front kitchen she immediately walked over to the kettle and put water in it to boil. |
