Juliet wasn't sure what to think about the whole ... idea of a rescue. She'd bumped into the woman who'd been wandering around the morning after the lock-out, and she hadn't exactly gotten a satisfactory explanation. There were too many things off about what she'd had to say -- especially the excuses for why they couldn't have been rescued just then. If one person could find them, why couldn't they have brought the rescue trains there? Sure, there'd been some excuse about funding, but Juliet had more of an idea that Bridget wasn't exactly functioning under the approval of the company. Still, she was nervous -- what if whatever they'd tried didn't work, and what if that had been their only chance? Or what if it was something the train had done, somehow? She didn't trust it, and as much as she wanted to get home, to get back to Alex and the safe house and her job and her friends ... she just didn't believe it. After corralling Simon for a second round of play in the snow, Juliet bundled up. Her eyes drifted in the direction of the cave so many of them had hidden out in during the lock-out, and she exhaled softly. Hopefully that was it as far as forced exposure went, but if it wasn't ... well, they knew where the cave was now. Tucking her hands into her pockets, Juliet gazed down at the snow as she walked a line to put her footprints one in front of the other in single-file while she waited for Simon to come out and join her. |
