Sharing with Friends
Characters: Lily, Marvel
When: Saturday, after breakfast
Location: Tris & Marvel's room
Warnings/Rating: None anticipated
Summary: Lily wants to share her news with people who might care
Status: Complete

Even though it had happened a few days ago, Lily hadn't quite gotten around to sharing her exciting fantastic news with people. There were some people that she wanted to tell but ... didn't, at the same time. Like telling her dad that her 39 year old lover had said I love you to her. Or Rose, because she'd feel kind of guilty about it since Rose's boyfriend had gone. She definitely wasn't going to tell her aunt and uncle, and her grandmother had already worked it out -- while Lily Evans couldn't lie, she could pick up fairly well on people trying to hide big things. Still, she didn't exactly want to talk to her grandmother about this. It was ... sort of weird.

Mostly because she wasn't sure she was prepared to hear any return gushing about Nick. She'd caught on that her grandmother was remarkably fond of the man, and Lily just wasn't ready to hear about it.

But she had friends here. Like Moore. She'd also heard that another friend of his had shown up, though Lily herself wasn't very familiar with the woman. She'd heard of her through Tris, but that was the extent of it. Still, the important part was, someone was here that could make the Wolfsbane potion, so all was well in the world -- until the train sent her back.

Moving down the hall with the air of a girl with huge happy news -- which she was -- Lily paused outside the door bearing Moore and Marvel's names. Rapping on it firmly, she waited for one of them to open it -- even though she probably could have walked right in. Still, if they were in the middle of something and had forgotten to lock the door, she just ... didn't want to see it.

Marvel glanced towards the door from his place sprawled on his and Tris' bed and weighed his options. Tristan was out with Ace and he didn't think there were that many other people who would be coming to their door. Well, unless there was another new arrival that was looking for one of them. Otherwise, he figured it was Lily.

"It's open," he called instead of getting up, pausing the handheld game he was playing. He set the device down on his stomach and waited to see if his guess was correct.

"If it were open," she called out even as she opened the door. "I wouldn't have been able to knock." She grinned, but she was just teasing him. Why shouldn't she tease? She was in a brilliant sort of mood. It was still the train, and everything was still fragile -- it could be destroyed in an instant if the train was inclined -- but for the time being, she was the happiest she'd been since the train had picked her up.

"What're you up to?" she prompted as she wandered over to the bed, flopping down beside him to see what he was doing before she grinned over at him. "And where's Moore?" If he was somewhere that he'd be back in a little while, she'd wait until he showed up before getting into it. Otherwise ... Marvel could just share with him.

"It's not locked," Marvel corrected himself with a goodnatured roll of his eyes, a grin on his lips. He set his game aside completely, resting it on the nightstand. He wasn't sure if she was just here to chat or was intending to fetch him and Tris to go watch a movie, but either way, he wasn't going to be playing anymore.

"Nothing really," he admitted, though she could probably gather he'd been playing a game. Not an 'important' one. "He's trying to blow up the train with Acevona. Or.. working on potions. One of those two.

"What's up?" He asked curiously as he rolled onto his side to face her, propping himself up with an elbow.

"Mm," she replied when he reported where Tris probably was. She reasoned either option was equally likely, and either one would take them a while.

She grinned in response to his question, shrugging her shoulders as she attempted to feign casualness. She was pretty sure even Marvel knew her well enough to more or less see through it, so she shrugged again and laughed softly.

"Don said he loved me," she said, a wide grin on her lips. "He said it first," she added, because to her that was the very, very significant part. "And you and Moore are about the only people I can share this with without ... some level of weird or guilt. So. Lucky you," she added.

When she grinned like that, he did immediately know that something was up. Something good, he assumed, since she looked pretty happy and he couldn't help but grin curiously, brows arched, as he waited for her to give in and spill the news.

"Aw," he replied, glad her for, but he wasn't exactly sure what the appropriate response was. He was a little surprised since she'd seemed pretty convinced that Don would never be saying any such thing, but he guessed she'd also thought that he wouldn't want to move in with her either.

"That's great. I'm honored that I'm not on your weird or guilty list," he added with a grin.

She grinned, and she reasoned Tristan would have produced a more elaborate response. After teasing her relentlessly, of course. Still, it wasn't the reaction she cared about; it was the sharing of the news.

"Well. You know what I mean. I can't go to my dad about this and it'd just feel like bragging if I shared with Rose." She shrugged. "So, as one of my best mates, you get the questionable honor of hearing it."

She stretched out one bare foot, prodding him lightly. "So how're you doing? What've you been up to, without details if ... they're the sort I don't want to hear?"

"Should we throw a party?" He asked with a teasing grin. However he was 'supposed' to respond, he figured she would cut him some slack. Maybe there wasn't even a right way to respond to news like that, given that at one point he'd wanted a relationship with her. But whatever, he was happy for her and he could see that she was genuinely pleased about the whole thing so that was all that mattered, really.

"What sort don't you want to hear?" Marvel grinned, knowing perfectly well what she meant. He shrugged, though. "Can't complain. I haven't really been up to anything that exciting ... except for things you don't want to know," he added, amused.

It was pretty much business as usual. Hang out, watch movies, go to the gym ... try to dodge whatever the train was throwing at them that week.

"I think so. For me. I don't think Don would be interested." She also didn't think Don would be thrilled she was going about announcing it, either, but she also figured he'd understand her telling her friends. It was a big thing, after all. "We can have drinks and cake," she decided with a grin before she shrugged. "I just ... wanted someone else to know."

Lily stuck her tongue out at him at his question before she shook her head. "I think you know," she replied. But she nodded to his explanation. That sounded about right, really. What was there exciting to do unless the train was doing something they had to actively dodge?

"Right," she said as she eased off the bed. "Well, let Moore know? I'm going to go wander around." She had an abundance of energy, and she wanted to burn some of it off before she ventured back to Don. She didn't want to show up hyper or anything.

He grinned. He couldn't imagine Don really hanging out with them, anyway. He nodded when she stood up, "I'll tell him. You'll probably hear about it after I do," he figured Tristan might have a lot more to say about it or feel like teasing her a bit more than he had.

"Let me know if you really bake a cake, though," he added, amused, before waving. He'd get back to his game if she was going to go wander around.

"Hah," she replied. "I don't bake. I'd have to see if I could convince my gran she wanted to bake me a cake for no particular reason. If that happens, I'll let you know," she promised with a grin before she eased out of his and Tristan's room.

Maybe she'd try swimming, or go play in the back car or ... see if she could find Moore around. Eventually though, she did plan to head back to her room, and to Don.
