Observing
Characters: Ice, open
When: Thursday night
Location: Indoor observation car
Warnings/Rating: None anticipated
Summary: Ice observes, and clings, and ponders
Status: Open, ongoing
Ice had never floated before, and she had spent the majority of the first twenty-four hours of the anti-gravity thing in her bathroom. It was unpleasant, and she disliked the lack of control. While she'd eventually worked out methods of pushing off the wall and pulling herself along whatever furniture wasn't floating, it was more work than it was worth. Now, she was aware that the comfortable feet-on-the-ground feeling could terminate at any moment. All the same, she'd opted to venture out of her room. She knew the outdoor car had a barrier, but she wasn't prepared to expose herself to open sky. Not just yet. It suited her just fine to watch the sky from the room that was enclosed by glass. If she did start to float, there would at least be something solid to brace herself against. Something solid that she could see, and knew existed. Not some mystical bounce-back barrier. The sky was pretty here. She would have preferred being on the ground and simply looking up at the sky rather than out to the sky, but she couldn't control that, either. She could just ride it out. Just like everyone else was doing. Pale grey eyes tracked a comet or ... shooting star or whatever it was as it streaked across the sky. A faint smile crossed her lips as she wondered what else was out there that she couldn't see past the darkness around the train. Settling into her seat, crossing her legs at the ankle, Ice gazed through the glass at the night sky. |
