Percy had awakened to a nightmare. As was his way, he had gone to bed at ten o'clock, so that he would be able to get a nice eight hours of sleep before rising at six - early enough that the morning wasn't wasted and he would be able to go about his day in the best possible manner - not feeling behind or rushed.
But sometime before six, he had awakened feeling...very strange indeed. And it had not taken him long to figure out why. He was floating, his face pressed against the ceiling. Swimming through the air did nothing, but after summoning his wand to him, he found that he was able to propel himself (short distances, anyway) - at least well enough to get to the bathroom, which seemed immune to this new and disconcerting strangeness.
Checking the network from his seat on the closed toilet, he noticed (much to his relief) that he was not the only one experiencing this strangeness. In fact, those without magic seemed to be having a harder time of it than he did. With no way to propel themselves, they seemed to simply be floating useless in the air, barely able to go anywhere or do anything. He figured that it was his responsibility to help them if he could - and with this in mind, he started out into the corridor, having to continually make small bursts of flame on his wand to propel him forward with diminishing returns. This was not good.
