Myka was pissed. For days she had scoped out what Shanghai had to offer and had planned to show Harry everything. Other than Charming and on occasion Claudia, Harry had broken under her shell. He was a good friend who had the potential to be something more. It had been so long since she'd been as carefree as she was when they baked cookies. When she woke Sunday morning she dressed quickly not even acknowledging Claudia. Save for the quick moment where she grabbed the money they'd obtained the day before. She was a woman on a mission. The walk to his room was relatively quick but when she got there his name was gone. She spent the next hour scouring the train looking for it on any of the doors until the reality settled in. Harry had been sent home by the train. Myka let the tears fall at the loss before she grew angry. She'd heard through the rumor mill on the train that it was normal behavior for people to show up and then disappear. No matter what they meant to the other passengers. She'd just chosen to ignore that fact until now. Never again would she get close to someone as she had allowed herself with Harry. No, instead she would close herself off and remain detached emotionally but still friendly when warranted. Her life was a joke. Everyone she ever cared about was ripped from her so this was the best solution. When she read on the network about a woman heading off the train to a bar she sent her a message. Myka needed to forget everything and all the happy memories she had made on the train. The best way to do that was to drink until you couldn't drink anymore. She sent one final message off to the woman and then left the train as fast as she could. There was a bar she'd happened across that would suit their needs perfectly. Before long she was walking in the door of Adam's bar and had sat down and ordered two shots which she quickly drained before ordering more. |
