Myka was going stir crazy. Claudia was for the time being ignoring that she existed. Only saying things to her when the need arose. It should bother her more than it did but it was just a phase. Her friend would see that she only had her best interests at heart. Interests that did not include allowing for her to continually be cruel to inhabitants of the train. Her conversation with Harry the day before gave her hope for a reprieve from her problems. Not knowing when she’d be able to spend time with him again didn’t bother her. His family should come first and when he was ready they could spend a day in Shanghai as friends. After grabbing a quick bite to eat she returned to her room to grab a few items. She’d not had much need for her Secret Service badge since arriving on the train. Few knew that she was in fact with the Secret Service back in her world. Myka wasn’t sure what relations were like between the United States and China in this future world they had stopped in. God willing things had not digressed and the two were hostile with each other. Either way she wasn't leaving without her badge this time. Tucking the badge onto the pants she was wearing she took another sweep around the room looking for her phone. She’d tossed it into the room that morning before she left and didn’t fancy leaving without it. Linens were tossed everywhere until it fell out from its place tangled in her sheets. Throwing the sheets back on the bed she reached down and picked up her phone and tucked it into her pocket. She’d remake her bed when she got back; a little fresh air was what the doctor ordered. Turning she opened the door to her room and exited before shutting it behind her. The walk to the nearest exit was quick and within seconds she was standing outside breathing in fresh air. She would enjoy this stop for as long as it lasted. As she continued walking the train was behind her and Shanghai in front of her. For the moment nothing else mattered. |
