Regina wasn't sure what Snow's answer would be when she had invited her to tea. She was pleasantly surprised that her stepdaughter had agreed. Before placing her phone back down she couldn't help but gage Snow's reaction to meeting her daughter. Emma Swan had stated on many an occasion how adamantly against being referred to as princess she was. She had no doubt that James would arrive with Snow and when Emma heard of the gathering she'd come as well. As much as Regina wished the blonde would stay away she did not trust her around anyone. For good reason but she was going to play the peace card for as long as possible. Making sure to grab her phone she left her room heading to the back kitchen. After making sandwiches and placing them on a plate she set about preparing the tea. While the water was boiling she carried the sandwiches and necessary condiments for tea to the parlor car setting them down on the table. Regina walked briskly back to the kitchen and grabbed four mugs balancing them in the crock of her arm while picking up the hot kettle. The tea bags to steep the tea had all ready been brought to the parlor car so she turned and walked back in that direction. After placing the tea kettle down she placed the mugs off to the side of the table. Once the tea was steeping she made one final trip to the kitchen to grab a couple of spoons and small plates before returning to the parlor. Sitting down on the couch she took a breath and relaxed into the cushions. Snow had said that she'd show up so now all that there was to do was wait.

"Your words from when we saw one another in the parlor car finally registered. My blame has always been placed on the one person it should not have been." Regina plastered a fake smile on her face as she spoke to Snow. The more she allowed the women to believe the past had been placed behind them the easier her revenge could truly be. Her only obstacle would be Charming as it was fairly obvious he didn't trust her.

Turning to look at James she spoke gently, "I have no intention of harming her, James. Please sit and enjoy some tea and sandwiches." She was grateful that Emma Swan had not been asked to come along. The woman would have called her on her bullshit from the beginning. Regina knew that despite Charming being an obstacle she'd have to overcome, Snow would try to see the truth behind her false promises.

Snow raised an eyebrow at Regina's words, but said nothing for a moment, appraising the situation.

"I find that difficult to believe, given the words we exchanged, and that I've been saying much the same for years now," she said, carefully, as she sat. She was torn between going with her stepmother's act, out of the worry that not doing so would incur some greater wrath, and treating the food and the woman herself as imminent threats.

"But I suppose our being in this place proves that nothing is impossible," Snow tried to smile, but it was difficult--as it was impossible to forget just how much Regina would take from her in this pointless quest for revenge.

Still, she did manage to make her lips curve up just a bit as she turned to look up at James, reaching for his hand--both to reassure herself, and to remind Regina that she'd protect him as much as he would her.

James would rather starve than eat anything that woman offered him, and he made that clear with a look as he squeezed Snow's hand. They would protect each other against anything she threw at them, but he didn't like this new tactic of hers. It was his nature to be kind to those who were kind to him, and he didn't like being forced into a position where he felt the need to distrust kindness.

"What do you want, Regina? Why have you asked us here? I doubt very much it was so we could chat about the good days."

She was growing tired of the looks James was throwing her way. It was obvious he wasn't going to trust her and neither was her stepdaughter but at the very least Snow was making an effort. He on the other seemed he would rather be elsewhere as would she. The idea had been a disaster from the beginning but the motive behind it would give her the space to complete her plan. The less they suspected and tried to uncover her ulterior motives the better.

"Thank you for showing some understanding, dear." Regina said and added in her head unlike someone in this room.

Leveling an annoyed glare at James she calmly said, "What do I want? It's simple, dear. The ability to go about my days in this hell hole without fear of attack. This meeting was a peace offering to show that I am willing to keep the peace among us to avoid bloodshed over past feuds."

"I can't claim to understand any of this," Snow said, cautiously, keeping her hand tight in Charming's. Knowing what Regina blamed her for, she also knew exactly what the woman wanted to take from her in return. If she'd wanted to run from her in the past, having a love and a family to lose--that she would lose--made her even more desperate to end this.

In any way she could.

She nodded at Regina's explanation, swallowing, "I can certainly understand that. After all," she said, face hardening just briefly as she looked at the woman who had tried to take her heart, and would take things far more precious, "that's all that I've ever wanted."

She let out a deep breath, "I never had any intention of attacking you first, especially not here. As long as you leave all of us in peace, I'm more than willing to show you the same courtesy."

Charming clenched his jaw, but did not rise to her insults or provocations. It wasn't worth it - she wasn't worth it. Instead he squeezed Snow's hand, letting her know that he was definitely still there. He was never going anywhere. Not while he still breathed, and likely he wouldn't even leave her then, if he had any say in the matter.

"And why should we believe you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "You have not exactly proven yourself to be trustworthy, Regina."
