Who: Mae Crawford and Nick Ryves When: Friday Night Where: F 306-B (Nick's and Harrison's Room) What: When you're about to jump head first into a battle with magicians and suddenly find yourself on a train going no where, you have to wonder what the hell just happened. Fortunately, not only is Mae trying to figure this out, but she's also decided to do a bit of investigating about the train and finds one Nick Ryves' room. Status: Closed/In-Progress
Had Jamie been with Mae, she wouldn't have gone wandering about the train. Not until her brother was sound asleep and safe. Only then would Mae have ventured out to find Alan and figure out what exactly was going on. They had been there, standing ready for battle with familiar faces, and then...nothing. Silence. The lurch of the train had been alarming at first, but Mae had gotten her footing and collected herself. Finding herself in an empty room had not been expected. The pad-shaped device had been a savior and quite easy to use. The information that displayed told her very little, but so much at the same time. She hadn't recognized either individual who had reached out to her at first, which wasn't too disheartening. You met a lot of new individuals when you traveled about to the Goblin Market and befriended a demon and his brother. Seeing Alan, even though it had just been words, had been a relief. At least someone was here on this magical train that she could trust. If Alan was here, though, what about his brother? Was Nick diving into battle alone? He could hold his own, Mae was positive of that. He would probably laugh at the prospect of a fight of himself against an entire army of magicians. But Jamie was different. Nick would watch over him right?
That made her walk faster down the hallway, worn Converse sneakers thudding heavily against the train's flooring. She didn't stop to talk or ask questions. She had done enough of that and gotten enough answers. If Alan was here, he was probably already thinking of some way to get them home. She should have asked him where she could find him. Maybe she could have been some sort of help. She had left the device back in her room, though, for the time being. She would go back to it and she would find Alan, and they would go home and finish what they had just been about to start.
The battle, of course. It was always a battle.
The cars between her sleeping car and the one she had found herself in had been interesting. It was certainly like no train she had ever seen. She had wanted to continue forward, wanted to see how far she could go before she was stopped by whatever magical force seemed to keep the rest of the passengers guessing. She slowed her steps before stopping completely in the middle of another sleeper car. Magical train. Mysterious, magical train. Neither of those things sat well with Mae. Magicians were horrible people who did horrible things for power. Selfish, stupid magicians and their demons. Reaching up, Mae clutched the talisman she wore around her neck and happened to glance to one side.
It hit her rather hard, the name plate on the doorway, like a solid punch to the stomach. No matter how much it stung, it was also a relief. Like being knocked down and picked back up. Mae didn't hesitate. Not even for a second. Giving a quick and loud knock against the door, she waited for a long moment. When she was answered the silence, she tested the handle, twisted the knob, and opened the door. Peeking her head in, a few strands of pink hair falling over her eyes, she reached up to quickly tuck them behind her ear. Taking a step further inside, turned a bit making a face.
