The power swaps and those stupid candies had been fucked up, but at least they'd really only impacted a couple people. These damn babies with all their crying and other stuff were annoying to everyone. At least that's how Glimmer felt about it. It wasn't like she'd hurt any of them, despite what people like Quinn and a few others thought, but it didn't mean she wanted to be anywhere near them. She was really glad she and Cato hadn't gotten stuck with one, because she wouldn't have had a clue what to do. Hell, she'd have preferred to be stuck at that last stop--at least there there'd be shit to kill and take her frustrations out on without anyone getting pissed.

But they weren't there, and the babies were still here, and there was always a chance someone would pass through one of the sleepers or other cars with one. So Glimmer was in the gym, lifting weights and enjoying the sound of the metal shifting far more than all the crying.

Buffy was really wishing that Willow was around because maybe her best friend could use her magic for a brief moment to create a soundproof room that Buffy could hide in. She had nothing against kids, but she didn’t want them for herself. Maybe once she thought about it, but that wouldn’t be a fair life for a little one. How as the slayer would she raise a kid? Gone all night hunting or maybe one night wouldn’t return. Buffy died enough times, but maybe the next time she would stay dead forever. Babies were cute to look at that was for sure only she was starting to rethink that with all the crying that she kept hearing.

How could people put up with that shit? Buffy was glad that she didn’t end up with one or she probably would have been trying to pass it off to someone else. Supernatural creatures were so much easier to deal with. Hell, Buffy couldn’t even take care of her egg when she had to do that for a school project and that wasn’t even a real baby! It seemed the one place she really didn’t have to deal with babies unless they were passing through was in the gym car and that’s where she was heading. Entering into the car, she noticed Glimmer lifting weights off to the side. Buffy wasn’t all that shocked to see her in here considering the girl was tough and had to work out to get that tough. “Hey,” she said to the girl. Buffy had dealt with her before that she didn’t think much about saying hello as she moved to her favorite thing in this room, the punching bags. “Were you lucky in being able to miss out on getting a baby?” Then again maybe Glimmer liked the babies, but she really doubt it.

Glimmer set down the weights when she heard a familiar voice, rubbing her sweat-drenched bangs off her face before looking up.

"Oh, hey," she said, when she recognised Buffy. She snorted, "Yeah, thank fuck. Can you imagine me and Cato with a kid?" she took hold of the weights again, "That'd be fucked up even for the train. What about you? You don't seem the kid type either, no offense or anything." She didn't think Buffy would be the kind to get worked up about it, but some women here might get pissed about it--like it was saying they were less womanly or something, Glimmer didn't get it.

A laugh left her lips at how happy Glimmer sounded about not getting a kid. “No offense, but that would be a damn scary thing to see you two with a baby to take care of,” Buffy didn’t think that Glimmer would take offense to that at all. Some people were meant to have kids, where others not so much. They didn’t seem the type just like Buffy couldn’t imagine herself with a little one. “Nah, I had enough with taking care of my baby sister that I don’t need a baby to worry about. Plus I couldn’t even take care of an egg for a baby project that the train would be asking for trouble if they gave me a real one.”

The train could be considered crazy and evil, but she doubt it was insane enough to give her a child. Buffy had a hard enough time with protecting her sister or keeping herself alive that she didn’t need a baby in the mix. “But no, this one missed me and I’m quite glad for that.” Maybe back before the slayer duty she wanted kids, but now she figured it was a whole lot of trouble. “None taken. Like I said I had enough with my sister and I have too much on my plate that I don’t need to add kids to the mix.” Buffy didn’t take offense to it because she knew she wasn’t mother material or at least as of right now she wasn’t. “Other than the screaming babies, how you doing with this world? Did you and Cato go out during the zombie world?” Buffy had a feeling they did considering they both had a lot of anger in them.

Glimmer snorted. "Yeah, we'd probably fuck up so bad, give the people here even more reason to be pissed at us."

She huffed as she lifted a weight above her head. "Well, it's a lot more messed up than a couple of the places we've gone through. Can't look outside for more than five minutes without getting a headache. Definitely liked the last place better."

She grinned a little, "Yeah. Cato got his arm fucked up, but it was still really good for both of us to actually be able to kill something. Been months since I've done much more than sparring with him, which isn't bad or anything, but it was a nice change. You kick any zombie ass for yourself?"

“Eh, I’m sure it won’t help at all but I’m not pissed with either one of you,” she had no reason to be. Yes, Cato had a mouth on him, but what teenage boy didn’t and they came from a world different from everyone around here. Buffy thought they were kitty cats compared to Faith who she disliked quite a bit. “But some people are meant for kids and others not so much.”

A small laugh left her lips about it being messed up as she started to punch the punching bag, listening to Glimmer as she talked. “No, the whole upside down thing will make a person sick if you look at it for too long. I can handle a lot of stuff, but outside the window? Nope, I can’t handle that.” Then again she didn’t think many were doing well with the view outside.

Buffy wasn’t surprised to hear about how they had been outside killing things. She would have been more surprised to hear they weren’t. “He okay?” She asked on the Cato and his arm issue. “But yeah, I went out with my scythe for a bit to kill and go on a supply run. After being used to patrolling every night for creatures to not have that job anymore it throws your system off,” she admitted. Buffy felt on edge just for the fact that she wasn’t hunting down vampires or stopping the world in some kind of way. “Plus my scythe hadn’t been in use since the war back in my world that I figured I would take it out for a bit.”

Glimmer almost laughed. "Yeah, and we're definitely some of the 'not so much' ones. I wouldn't have any clue what to do with a kid, no way Cato would either."

She grinned when Buffy talked about going out with her scythe. "Yeah, it felt almost normal again, getting to go out and cut into something that at least looked like a human." She grunted as she lifted the weights again. "Yeah, he's fine. Sure he got a lot worse in training. Think he actually kind of got off on it a bit--pain and blood and stuff, that shit's a lot more exciting than most the stuff going on around here. Actually," she huffed.

"It sort of sucked to have to go back to this now. Can't cut someone up here without getting someone whining on the net."

“Really? I took you two for the best parents of the year type,” she said with a smirk. Glimmer seemed the type that wouldn’t get pissy about that considering even she said they weren’t meant for kids. Hell, Buffy wouldn’t care if someone said that about her cause she knew that she had a hard enough time with her sister and they were closer in age. “I’m sorry but I think it would have been slightly amusing to watch for a bit the two of you with a kid,” she shook her head with a smile at the image.

Buffy wasn’t for killing humans, but she also knew they were from a different world than she was from. “Not a fan of killing humans, but I’m used to the undead stuff. Not the same as vampires or things like that though they did the trick,” she said with a shrug. “Oh one of those type? The more pain, the more they enjoy, right?” She asked, shaking her head at the thought. “Yeah, I’m so against people killing other humans, especially when we are not at your games anymore. Back in your world it’s whatever because that’s what you guys were trained to do, but not here.” Though she knew they weren’t. The two might have thought about it, but they weren’t actually going to do it.

“No, but you can spar with some people or work out even if it isn’t the same. I mean I really have to be careful with who I fight with because of my abilities, but if you ever want a sparring partner who isn’t Cato, I’m happy to help out.” It would give her a good work out and help her work on learning to watch her abilities when using them against people who were human.

Glimmer snorted. "Yeah. Amusing. More like fucking terrifying."

She laughed a bit her comment about pain. "Pretty much, yeah. You know, all those--endorphins or whatever you get when you're really hurt but you're fighting or whatever, so you don't feel a damn thing?" she grinned, "It was fun. I mean, to be really fighting something, not having to hold back or anything. Those fuckers deserved it, too."

She tilted her head a bit. "Yeah? Sure, if you wanted. Never got to see you when you had your powers, so it'd be kind of cool. Probably work on some of my weak points."

“Okay amusing for me and fucking terrifying for you two,” she said with a laugh. Buffy would pick slaying demons, vampires, and everything else that she had to deal with over freaking babies.

Buffy knew exactly what she meant considering all the times Buffy had been hurt while fighting. “Yeah, you don’t feel them until after the fight, but if you heal quickly it doesn’t matter though for people who heal normally it must suck,” she said without thinking. Buffy was so used to healing quickly from everything that she was thankful for it. The amount of times she been hit, kicked, thrown, and had something broken she needed the ability to heal quickly. “You guys only had those games to fight in. I had to go out every night to fight or whenever trouble was around so not having my patrols or my watcher on my case is weird. That’s why I work out every day since if my watcher shows up he can’t get on my case about not staying in tip top shape,” she spoke the last bit in an accent as if she was Giles.

“Why not? I mean I have to be careful with my strength since I don’t want to hurt you, but I could use a sparring partner that can hold her own.” Buffy didn’t even mean that as something mean. She just knew she was stronger than Glimmer and the girl wasn’t a demon or a vampire who had the same strength so she had to tone it down some when fighting. She didn’t have to play easy, but she didn’t give it her all.

Glimmer actually grinned, not taking offense at all--she knew Buffy had powers like some of the other people on board, and recognised that it was different from just being strong or face.

"Sure, sounds cool." She huffed, setting the weights down and leaning forward on her arms a bit.

"So...it was like your job, back home? You're not just a...mutant or whatever like some people?"

Buffy still felt weird when she knew she could take on pretty much most of the people on the train because she knew guys hated it. Even back in her world cause no one knew what she was the boys hated when she proved stronger than them. Did it bug her? A bit, but she learned that it didn’t really matter because she was still the same person only stronger than them.

“Not a mutant,” she said with a laugh as she focused on the punching bag to throw another punch before looking over at Glimmer. “I was known as a slayer back home and I should have been the only one, but I had a habit of shaking up the system, which could be why the watchers council didn’t like me all that much,” she commented. They probably wanted Buffy to stay dead since that screwed up the slayer timeline but death didn’t take to her. Made her stronger and that made Buffy the longest slayer to ever stay in her position even with the times she had died.
