Characters: Artemis & Quinn Morgendorffer When: Sunday evening Location: Forward parlor car Warnings/Rating: M for makeover! Summary: Quinn's left Cleopatra in the infirmary for a few hours to get a break and find someone who will actually appreciate her makeover efforts.
God, taking care of a baby was hard. In the short day that she'd had Cleopatra in her care, Quinn had learned one thing for sure: babies did not like to sleep. She'd been up about every four hours the night before, changing the baby or feeding her or just plain holding her. God, couldn't she just sleep in her bassinette like she was supposed to? Quinn didn't get it. She'd borrowed an adorable sleeper from Nina that suited her perfectly, and Quinn had decorated the bassinette with ribbons and a silk flower she'd scavenged from a hat in the baggage car. Couldn't she just be happy?
Never one to admit defeat, though, Quinn couldn't bring herself to turn the child over to Simon's care in the infirmary. No way. The train had given her this fashion icon, and she was going to see it through. There was a reason Cleopatra had appeared in her room, and Quinn felt very responsible for helping shape the child's early love of cosmetics. But at the same time... she needed a break. And what better time to take one than on a quiet Sunday evening? So she'd dropped the baby off in the infirmary with a promise to pick her up again later that evening... although the peace and quiet she was currently enjoying sort of made her think twice. Wouldn't it be so nice to leave the baby there all night?
Quinn sighed, blowing on her freshly-applied fingernail polish. There wasn't much more primping she could do on herself, but she had to admit she didn't think she was quite done yet. There had to be someone else who would be willing to have their hair done....
