Characters: Karolina Dean and Simon Bellamy When: Sunday night Location: Their room Warnings/Rating: B for babies! Summary: Karolina doesn't know much about babies, but she's sharing a room with one.. so she figures she'd better start to learn.
Karolina couldn't believe her luck. What with the sudden influx of babies on the train, she'd still managed to find a copy of a childcare book in the library car! She would have thought they'd all be gone by now, but in a corner, all by itself, she'd found a lone copy of What to Expect the First Year languishing on a nearly cleared-out shelf. She figured it was now or never - so she'd grabbed it, and although she'd never been much for reading, she'd been doing all she could to educate herself on her roommate's new bundle of joy.
Well, she assumed it was Simon's, anyway. It had been left on his bed and all. Despite her attempts to engage him in conversation over these last few weeks, he didn't seem terribly conversationally inclined. He was nice enough, but had never really gotten friendly in the way Karolina would have liked... but maybe this baby would help them get to be better friends. Humming a little, Karolina headed over to the bassinette. She'd read that babies around Julius' age didn't require much - mostly they liked to be held, and so she reached in and carefully picked him up, making sure to keep one hand on the back of his head. "There, is that better?" she cooed. Karolina was the cooing type to begin with, and being around babies certainly didn't help.
