Ice thought things had been moving along nicely with Gale. She felt content in his presence, which was more than she could say about a lot of people, or places. Whatever came of it, or didn't come of it, she was enjoying the journey. She was still a little shy about seeking him out for any sort of activity, or putting too much of a demand on his time, and when he wasn't around to be found, she didn't push or pry. She wouldn't have appreciated him prying when she went off to be alone, so she extended that courtesy to him. She had been a little disappointed to leave the stop behind. Granted, she could do without the zombies, but ... being able to disembark had been nice. Now she had to rely on the back car to entertain her when Gale wasn't around. Or, she reflected with a little smile, even when Gale was around. While she'd heard about the Mockingjay's return, she tried not to think too much on it. What would or wouldn't be ... would or wouldn't be. If things played differently than she wanted, so be it. Ice had heard, too, about the influx of babies on the train. As they were of no particular interest to her, she had no inclination to seek one out. She tried to avoid the infirmary, but since there was only one hallway through the train, it was impossible to. She simply made her way through quickly when she passed. When she reached the back car, she only had to try the door a handful of times before an interesting room showed up. It wasn't unlike the room she and Gale had tried a few weeks ago, and the memories of that as much as anything else made her decide to stop on this room. Stepping inside, Ice moved to the pool table. She ran one hand lightly along the felt before she smiled a little. She glanced toward the door as if she expected to see him there, but of course no one was. Well, someone was bound to show up, sooner or later. The question would be whether or not it was someone she was interested in spending time with or not. Crossing to the wall, Ice plucked free one of the cues before she started to gather up the balls. Until someone did show up, she could practice actually playing the game so that the next time she and Gale came across this room, she could pose some sort of a challenge to him. |
