Of course she was thankful he was alive. Beyond thankful, really. If she'd had anything of value, Snow probably would have given it all to the group of people who'd brought him back. But in the back of her mind (and, in private, the front), she was still beyond cross with him for nearly scaring her to death. It had been so long since she'd cared this much about someone, that she'd almost forgotten how terrifying even the thought of losing them could be.
Well, she supposed she should count herself lucky in some ways. If nothing else they'd been through together had already, the thought she'd lost him--the previously-unimaginable fear and heartbreak that had rushed through her when he'd gone silent while she'd been trying to keep him talking--definitely proved how much he meant to her. That in itself was....frightening, really. As was the fact that, even knowing such a thing could so easily happen at her stepmother's hands in their homeland, Snow knew there was no way she would even think of leaving his side again if she had even the slightest say in the matter.
Which was why she didn't even hesitate when he asked to see her, as she might have months ago. She was already walking to the infirmary before he'd properly asked; and when she got there everything in her face and posture dared any one to get between them.
"You know, once you're out of here, you're going to have to do a lot to make up for almost dying on me," she said when she got to his bedside, a smile coming onto her face without thought.
