Characters: Sherlock Holmes & John Watson
When: Saturday Evening
Location: Dining cart
Warnings/Rating: Discussion of dead bodies.
Summary: John & Sherlock. A totally non-date situation. With none of the feelings
Status: Ongoing.
Sherlock had heard a lot of things over the last few days. A lot of things. Some things were just ridiculous. Things he was still having a lot of trouble accepting. His fingers tapped on the table, itching for his violin still. That was it. That was why things weren't as smoothly as they usually did. He had nothing to help him think. He had John back, yes, but he didn't have all of the other things in place. It was most frustrating.
He was waiting for his friend in the dining cart. It was time to compare notes. John had been doing doctory things for a few days and Sherlock had snooped around nearly the entire train looking for some kind of evidence, something on any of the other people, their behaviour, their habits. But it was impossible. No. No, it wasn't impossible. It was just all being frustratingly elusive.
He stared out of the window of the dining cart. What appeared to be some part of Africa passed by outside. Having a view to look at had certainly helped in some respects, helped cope with the feeling of being cooped up on the train, but still, every day that ticked by that Sherlock hadn't solved this whole ordeal the more antsy and wound up and annoying he found himself growing.
There were a couple of other people eating a few tables away. They wouldn't be completely alone but, whilst Sherlock hated to eat during a case natural needs were starting to win out and he knew John liked to eat like a regular person. His foot began to tap the ground in tandem with his fingers upon the table, his restless without John to ground him.
