Trish wasn’t going to be stupid or pretend that she could take care of herself when she couldn’t. As much as she wanted off this train, she wasn’t going to be stupid. No, one stupid mistake was good enough for a while and that stupid mistake was the whole engagement to Henry. All she had wanted was a decent place to get off so she could throw her engagement ring far away and forget all about the ring. When she tried taking it off and leaving it in her room, she kept thinking about it and she figured leaving it somewhere would make it easier to move on. Maybe she was wrong, but she wanted to start over without the thought of Henry. Instead the train dropped them off in a place that gave Trish the creeps. The first day in this place, she only stepped outside for a moment before going back inside where she felt a little safer. People kept going out and she wished more than anything that she was good at something. Where she knew how to use a shot gun and knew how to aim the problem came when the gun was out of ammo. Trish had no idea how to load it because she always had someone to do that for her. The one time she was trying to protect the people was against the psycho killer, but she missed him cause he stayed away from behind the door when she shot at him, waiting until she was out of bullets before attacking. No way was she going to have people babysitting her or being the weakest link in a group when she knew that she wouldn’t be of any help. Leaving her room, she went to the back kitchen with the plan to grab herself something to drink. Deciding on a water bottle, she moved to have a seat at the counter. Trish set the cap of her water bottle on the counter top as she took a sip of her water before placing it to the side. With a small smirk she started to spin the top something she had always done to amuse herself even when her father would yell at her to stop. She heard someone come in, but she didn’t even look up as she watched the bottle cap spin. “Hey,” was all she said to the stranger while her eyes were on the spinning cap. |
