Who: Jace Wayland and Alec Lightwood
Where: F 506-A; Sleeping Car #11
When: Monday Evening
What: Parabatai until the very end! (But not like that...)
Status: Closed; Completed
Jace couldn't be happier to know that Alec Lightwood had found his way on the train. It gave him a sense of peace where he had been worrying over his adoptive siblings since arriving on the train. What had happened to Alec and Izzie? Were they alright? What were they doing? Were they worried about him? Of course they would be worried about him. There was hardly any time when Jace wasn't making one of them, or both of them, worry themselves sick over his well-being. Jace did have the tendency to go poking around for trouble even though he swore trouble was always usually finding him. Besides, he had to make sure Clary was safe. And usually where Clary was, Simon wasn't too far behind. Mark of Cain or not, Jace felt an urge - a very annoying urge - to keep an eye out for him as well. Something bad happening to Simon meant Clary would be distraught, and Jace just couldn't have it.
Fortunately, thus far, things seemed to still be fairly quiet on the train. The sudden ability to use magic had been interesting. Jace had managed to keep himself out of trouble and hadn't caused too much damage to the train, or those on board. He didn't really have a reason to run around causing havoc. While he was no stranger to jumping into the fray without much thought, he wasn't as though he purposely went poking about for trouble with mundies and Downworlders. The former usually put themselves in their own danger, and the latter were always trying to cause some sort of spectacle when they were bored. There were the few on the train that certainly were more vocal, but none had made a direct threat to Jace, nor had they raised a hand against Clary. For the time being, they were safe.
He still was unsure of how to handle William Herondale and Jem Carstairs. Had he known about Clary's visit with Jem, Jace would have been quite displeased. He would have been marching down to speak to both Jem and Will to ensure that neither of them got Clary involved with anything dangerous. Jace knew she was a Shadowhunter, but still. Still. He had already lost enough people he cared about. He didn't want to lose anyone else.
Jace didn't hesitate to invite Alec down to his sleeping car in the event that he either hadn't found his own yet, or hadn't been dropped into it by the train. It would give him some time to catch up with his parabatai and fill him in on just what had been going on during his absence. The fact that it had only been a few days to Alec while it had been months to Jace was of interest, and something Jace would be certain to address.
He lay on the perfectly-made bed, the other above him looking just as pristine as his. The room was spotless much like his room had been back at the Institute. Arms folded behind his head, Jace was silent and still, concentrating for the time being on the melodic clunking noise that the train made every now and again as it traveling over the tracks. A small grin graced his handsome face as a brief glimpse of Clary colored his mind before he heard a sharp knock on his door.
