It took every bit of willpower Abby possessed not to get up from 'her' bed in Trish's room and look for Connor. She knew how worried he was about her, but there was no way she'd risk hurting him in her current state. That said, she was really starting to get cabin fever, and as someone far more accustom to walking in forests than starring at four walls, it was beginning to be a problem. Instead of convincing herself she was trying to sleep, Abby began quietly pacing the room. Would it really be the end of the world if she took a walk down the train? Jessica had yet to appear with food, and perhaps she could make it to the infirmary herself... Before she'd properly thought it through Abby was on the move, heading out of the room and towards the infirmary. All she could think of was the way her body had reacted to the blood - the intoxicating smell of it, and the way it seemed to heighten her senses in strange new ways. Pity it was cold. The thought popped into her mind without warning, and once there she couldn't shake it. Abby smelled the infirmary well before she reached it, the stench of old blood was disgusting, and instead of drawing her in it repulsed her. It wasn't what she needed at all! For a moment she thought about going back, about maybe knocking on Cutter's door and... "NO!" Abby ran, as much to get away from her racing thoughts as to get anywhere specific, putting as many cars between her and her friends as possible. She finally came to a stop, a strange smell hit her and she couldn't shake it. Following the scent led her into one of the newer cars - the pool - and she connected the smell with one she knew well. Chlorine. Maybe here she'd be able to mask the smell with something other than the blood of the passengers. Abby drifted into one of the corners and sat, hugging her legs to her chest. She should just have stayed put, and waited for Jessica - or this nightmare to end! Suddenly her scenes prickled and she felt a heartbeat coming closer. "Just move on," she willed it, as she forced herself to stay put. Instead it got nearer, opening the door and joining her in the car. Abby silently stood, and watched from the shadows. Perhaps this was fate. Just a small taste would hurt neither of them, would it? |
