Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:regina mills, {the huntsman, ~tara

Characters: Regina Mills and Huntsman
When: Sometime after this and this
Location: Back Parlor Car
Warnings/Rating: PG-13 - R (Language could begin to escalate between these two)
Summary: Regina wandered the train until she decided to sit in the parlor car and get lost in her thoughts. Her solitude is broken by the arrival of someone she'd much rather not deal with at that moment in time, Huntsman.
Status: Closed, ongoing

Regina had finally decided to leave her room and explore the car. The little help she received from the net on what she could do to entertain herself came to mind. After walking the length of the train she decided that she'd just sit down in the next car she entered. As she walked into the parlor car she scanned the room and found the couch to be the most practical place to sit. It brought to mind her parlor in her castle of the past. As she sat down Regina let out a sigh. Since her arrival on the train she hadn't been able to block out all of the memories of the past. More and more in the short time she had been here they were surfacing and beginning to drive her mad. There was no saying whether this would have happened in Storybrooke had she never been kidnapped but at least there she had distractions. Here the distractions were slim and few. The idea of having to settle and accept the fact that she'd never be able to go home was too hard to grasp. Slipping the ring off her finger Regina looked at the image of Daniel's face that shown through the center. Every day was beginning to get harder as memories of her youth slipped through her barriers. A life that seemed so foreign to what she was now. "Daniel" she whispered closing her eyes and laying her head back against the couch.

The back parlor car was on his way from his room to the kitchen, and he found himself passing through there frequently, observing it - as he observed everything - but with very little interest.

Today, however, as he entered the car he knew immediately that something was different. Wolf, who had been laid back and excited about the food that was sure to come from the kitchen car, stopped, bristled and let out a low growl.

His eyes followed hers and narrowed when they lit upon her.

He had been trying to avoid her - he in no way wanted to see her in such an enclosed and confined place. He also did not entirely trust himself with the anger he felt inside himself.

But Wolf growled again, and he knew that any hope of avoiding her by leaving the room quickly was lost, so he simply stared at her wordlessly for a moment, waiting for her to notice him. Perhaps it was best that they simply get this over with.

Regina had heard a few people pass through the car since she entered and just ignored them. It seemed that at least people were smart enough to know when someone was just looking to be alone. As she heard someone new enter the car she intended to carry on with her solution to meaningless chatter. However, the growl that she heard directed in her general location caused her to open her eyes and tense her body. Looking towards the source of the growl she groaned and continued the staring contest that seemed to be going on.

Of all the times that she'd have to run into the Huntsman and his companion it had to be now when she'd rather be alone. Knowing that there was nothing she could do and the confrontation would have happened sooner or later she sighed and said, "So much for avoiding one another."

"Yes, that would have been far more pleasant, wouldn't it?"

He looked at her, his eyes dark and filled with a deep anger and hatred, crossing his arms across his chest. He was dressed as he had been when he died, badge and all, but there was very little of Sheriff Graham in his posture or expression.

"Why are you here? What are your intentions?"

Wolf snarled, bearing her teeth at the woman, seeming to share her companions opinions of her.

"I have no intentions other than finding a way to get home"

After returning his glare and then slipping the ring back on her finger she crossed her arms across her chest and looked him over. It was strange seeing him in the same clothes that he wore the day he died. Truth be told Regina didn't quite understand how the train was able to not only travel through realities but through different time periods in those realities.

"My intentions are to stay out of your way and everyone else from our world that is stuck here."

Turning to glare at the wolf bearing its teeth at her she continued to remain tense. "Would you kindly tell your 'friend' to stop growling at me." she said as she looked back up at him.

"I am not her master," he shrugged. "She does as she will, and it appears that she is a very fine judge of character."

He lowered his hand to stroke the soft fur of Wolf's ears, and the creature took a moment from her growling to nuzzle his hand before turning back to Regina with a snarl.

"It isn't like you to stay out of the way."

"I'm choosing to stay out of the way because I'd rather just be alone." Regina replied glancing down at the ring that was on her finger. Without looking back up she added, "No matter how evil a person is or is assumed to be, solitude is one thing they have in common with everyone else. Right now I just want to be alone to remember Dan ... I just want to be alone."

He was not one to miss things, and he did not miss the partial name that she spoke. He did not know who "Dan" or "Daniel" was, but he could tell by the tone of her voice that he had been someone she cared about. A lover, perhaps, or a close friend. A brother?

But honestly, he couldn't make himself care. Perhaps she had lost someone. Perhaps her life had been filled with sorrow.

But he could not find in that any excuse for sharing that sorrow a thousandfold with others. No matter what cruelty life had visited upon her, she had no right to hurt innocent people.

He sneered at her slightly, and Wolf growled, although it was becoming a much softer growl of distaste rather than outright threat.

"If you think you will make me pity you, you do not know me at all."
