Simon had been busy in the grey reality. He'd wanted to do something to cover the windows, but then it made the room dim and gloomy -- more than the grey alone did. So he just did his best not to look, and hoped they'd be out of it soon.
He reasoned they would be; aside from the first month, they'd never spent more than half a month in any given reality and it was fast approaching that point. Maybe another day or so, if not tonight. He was hoping for tonight, but he could endure a few more days.
Clad in a pair of khaki shorts and a polo shirt -- a far cry from his former more formal attire -- Simon was busy sorting through what papers had been filled out, and working on the filing system. It was time enough that they had a proper one, and he was certainly willing to entertain suggestions (and he hoped the next reality had a couple of filing cabinets they could acquire), but so far none had been forthcoming.
When he heard faint footsteps and sensed a presence, he turned toward the door. Offering the young lady a smile and a slight nod, he started to turn back to what he was doing. She hadn't looked injured, but ... that didn't always mean anything. While she could just be passing through, he thought it would be better if he asked.
"Hello," he said, an easy smile on his lips. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
