Characters: Churck Shurley and Meredith Grey When: Sometime Sunday night Location: Dining car Warnings/Rating: None Summary: Random encounter during the plot
Meredith never would have considered herself to be 'settled in' here. She liked Simon and Kaylee - they were good people, and really absolutely adorable together if she got right down to it, but the fact remained that they were future people, and that was intimidating. Medicine had probably advanced so far she would seem off her game to Simon and that was an egotistical thing to think, but there it was.
And then there was the fact that they'd gone from cow pasture to city to the antarctic in no time flat. The last time Meredith had dealt with anything quite so jarring, she'd been backpacking across Europe and trying every drug that was offered at Sadie's behest.
Now she was just seriously missing Derek. And Cristina. And still mourning Zola, so when there was a knock at her door, she was almost relieved to answer it. There wasn't much decorating she could do to the room anyway. Not with scrubs and a hospital-issue winter coat, so it still was pretty plain.
She recognized the small, nervous man waiting there. He was fidgeting like he was tweaking on something bad, but Mer was trying not to judge. "Hi. You're Chuck, right?"
