There were not a lot of opportunities for things to be as they were back home. Not to say things were exactly always so perfect back home. Or settled. Or even ..really very nice; between Herrick upstairs, the cage fight they'd barely all escaped. But they had their moments, and honestly regardless the tension that might be underlying or more pressing worries still hanging in everyone's mind. It was those sort of moments that were still worth looking for, finding amongst themselves. Annie had been the catalyst in this. But she always was when it came to bringing them together. Reminding them when there were things to celebrate, or simply just to eat together; even if was likely to be a particularly unspectacular breakfast through fault of the train, only. So perhaps it didn’t really seem on the surface there were many whole hearted reasons to celebrate in particular; supplies were low, and it was the basics now, necessities. There were people to feed, more of them by the day it seemed and there was still naught but Dinosaurs outside. Still as Annie had reminded them, Mitchell’s return was something, the fact he’d recovered. Was still recovering, when the rest of the vampires affected had all decided to replenish their strength with the aid of blood. Whether or not they locked horns moments before Mitchell had collapsed, Nina in this case wanted him to know that meant something and she was happy to agree to Annie’s suggestion. She’d offered to help too when Annie had invited them for breakfast the previous evening. Waking up pillowed against George, Nina found herself a little sluggish even thinking about moving from the warmth of their bed and insisted George go ahead - sensing he was just a little eager for this ‘family’ breakfast as it was. She thought he might like a little bit of extra time with Mitchell too anyway and happily shoo’d him on his way, despite the fact he seemed reluctant to leave her. Nina dressed slowly and passed by the Kitchen to see if Annie needed any help - she wasn’t there and with the assumption she must already be in her’s and Mitchell’s cabin. Heading straight there, Nina knocked lightly on the door just to be sure, before she wandered in to the room and pulled the door closed behind her, smiling a little. |
