Rudy had been on the train for almost a week now. He'd been up and down the length of it a number of times in that period. Checking out the alcohol stores in the parlour cars, visiting each of the kitchens, dressing up as a pirate because he could. Oh, and looking at the motherfucking dinosaurs. But he'd gotten a bit bored of all of that and was looking for some other activity to hold his attention. It was the middle of the day, or thereabouts. Most people were milling about the kitchens and dining ares, looking out the windows or were otherwise out and about trying to keep themselves entertained. Rudy had decided to take advantage of their occupying themselves to occupy himself.. by sneaking looks into their rooms. He'd started at the front of the train - after grabbing a rather late breakfast from the front kitchen and enjoying it in the dining car. He'd simply started by opening doors and seeing what was inside. Some rooms were still occupied and Rudy apologised and explained the intrusion by claiming 'wrong room' or 'looking for someone else'. Though if he'd actually thought about it, the names on the doors kind of made those scenarios unlikely. But he hadn't thought about it, and if any of the few people he'd walked in on had, well, they hadn't said anything. It was the fourth sleeper car that he was in now, and whilst the rooms were all the same, it seemed some people had possessions with them. Either stuff they'd picked up at the stops or items that had come with them. Rudy wished he'd had his hands on the vending machine when he'd turned up. This train was seriously lacking in vending machine fare, which had been their standard lunch at the community centre. Rudy opened yet another door, stepping in to notice that it was occupied. "Oh, sorry luv," he said - still obviously taking in the room. "Wrong room." |
