Katherine was not happy to be here, but Klaus didn't seem to be here which was helpful. She didn't have to run from him. She wasn't entirely happy about what she had learned upon arriving here. She was a little peeved that Elena had gotten Damon, but in a way it was completely to her advantage. It meant Stefan was free. And since he was now here, Katherine would wait for the fallout and willingly provide him a shoulder to cry on. She had always loved Stefan, more than she'd ever loved Damon. And maybe there was a chance that she could win him back.

But she was a little hurt that Damon had said that he hated her. She had brought him the cure when he'd been bitten by Tyler Lockwood. She'd helped him in his plan to kill Klaus when she could have easily said no. She had saved his life and helped Stefan break his bond with Klaus, when she could have let Klaus be killed, and Damon die. And since she had been running from Klaus for over 500 years it would have been so much more beneficial to her to just let Damon kill him. And then to be told she was hated by him. That didn't sit well with Katherine at all. The next time Damon wanted help saving his precious Elena he could look elsewhere. Katherine was not going to help someone who hated her.

She stepped out of her room to go explore the train. She figured she might as well get used to her new surroundings and perhaps she'd run into the younger Salvatore.
