Maryanne had promised Glimmer to teach her how to hunt Alligator, but... She was going to rope Cato in too. There was no reason a kid, as big as he was, not to know how to hunt for themselves. Especially in a swampy area, where a few of the things you'd hunt could hunt you just as quick. So she hung out at the outside of the train, waiting for him to come out. Ready to pounce if she had too. Now she knew she wasn't totally recognizable, or not as a woman anyway, her 'Dread Pirate Roberts' costume-a billowing blouse topped with a long leather vest, a pair of dark brown just-below-the-knee trousers, and a pair of folded top boots-hid most of her curves. The tricorn hat upon her head hid the femininity of her face, even if the thick black liner accentuated her blue eyes. She'd like to think that it distracted from the rest. She'd lifted three long daggers from some of the pirates she'd out drank, who had fallen on their faces, so that they would be armed just enough. Now most people would go in with a gun, but Maryanne knew a way to take one out without ruining all the 'good meat'. And it sure wasn't shooting one. Maryanne was actually looking forward to it. She liked Cato, and Glimmer. Something about Cato... she couldn't put her finger on it, short of him somehow wrapping her around his little finger, she cared about him, cared about what happened to him. And Glimmer. And she hoped that if they ever got off the train... It wasn't in Panem. It was somewhere they could actually have a future. |
