The day had been … honestly, one of the most pleasant days she’d had since the whole kidnapping thing started. After popping around a bit (and landing once in the middle of the water), they’d found an orange grove. As far as she could tell, it was likely somewhere in Florida (or what would become Florida), and it was pleasantly deserted. The trees were growing wild, and the oranges were ripe. It felt … well, it just felt nice. A bit of playful teasing had wound up with her pinned beneath Severus, and then after a bit of chatting and planning, she’d somehow wound up beneath him again. Funny how she hadn’t protested it in the least either time. If the place wasn’t … entirely too primitive for her to want to stay for long, Lily would have suggested they just live here. Since it was just the pair of them, and since there was just something wicked and naughty about it, Lily didn’t bother dressing after their second bout. She couldn’t imagine he minded the view, and it would save her the trouble of undressing if they went for a round three. Strolling along one of the paths, Lily smiled, exhaling a contented sigh. She did glance around to make sure she wasn’t stepping out of his view, but … the area wasn’t that big. And it wasn’t as though there was much of anywhere to hide. Still, she wondered if she could rope him into a game of hide and seek. She hadn’t seen any sign of people around anywhere, so why not? Her smile slid into a grin as she moved off the path, weaving her way very carefully through the branches and overgrowth to lose herself in the tangle of forest. Pressing her hand to her lips to stifle a laugh, she glanced back. She couldn’t see him any more, and reasoned it was the same for him. ____________ Severus hadn't been too excited, really, at the prospect of exploring Tortuga. It was an excuse to get off the train while it was stopped and of course spending time with Lily was something he didn't think he'd ever get tired of, but running around with pirates wasn't very high on his to-do list. Surprisingly, it had turned into an extremely nice day and he was looking forward to many days like it, avoiding the natives and everyone else. He'd been watching her wander around naked, a little amused, but mostly appreciative. He let his dark eyes drift closed for a moment as he relaxed, opening them again just in time to catch a glimpse of her before she moved out of sight. He waited, briefly, for her to return, arching a brow when she didn't. Calling her name, he added, "You're going to be in trouble if you make me come after you." Though, he expected that if that hadn't been her goal in the first place, it probably would be now that he'd said that. Giving her another moment or two to return, he pushed up to his feet, giving their pile of clothes a quick glance. Exhaling, he moved in the direction she'd been heading in, an amused smirk on his lips as he began to seek her out. ______________ Lily grinned when she heard him call out her name, and then something she supposed he meant as a threat. “How much trouble?” she called back, if only to give him an idea of where she was before she started to move again. The deeper she moved into the trees, and the farther she got from the orchard itself, the more difficult it was to move. She came across something she reasoned was a deer path, and she moved as quickly along that as she could. She waved her hand to disrupt the clouds of gnats that seemed interested in following her around, and she stifled a slight noise as she snagged a bare foot on a root protruding across the path. As far as excellent ideas went, she didn’t think this one even made the long list. No matter; she’d committed to it, and she’d keep going. She paused her steps, tilting her head to listen to see if she could detect where he was, and how close he was, before she started to move toward what seemed to be a more open area of the forest. If they were fortunate, maybe she’d stumble across a spring in a clearing or something. |
