For the past few days, Guy had found himself followed by a small bird, birds really. It could hardly be the same one, after all; he'd dispatched a number of them, but when he changed rooms or woke from sleep there always seemed to be another one waiting for him. The voices changed from time to time, Annie berating him for abandoning their son, Isabella pleading with him not to marry her off to the cruel oaf of a man, Marian taunting him about how she had always loved Hood and would never marry him...
He'd dispatched the bird in his quarters and had gone to the laundry car, intent on doing something constructive, but as he filled the machine, an oily voice filled his ears.
"All women are lepers, Gisborne..." He whirled at that, locating the bird in the corner opposite the door, flinching as it went on about how he shouldn't be surprised that Maria had betrayed him. No, Guy would not stand for this, unsheathing his sword even as his eyes studied the room, working on the method of dispatching this latest nuisance.
