"Shite!" She hadn't quite caught herself that time with her outburst of frustration that time, but people didn't seem to mind her fiddling away at this and that in the corner of the car. She hadn't busied herself with any sort of movie or video game as others often did, though. Oh, no. Gemma was keeping herself well entertained and occupied with her own sort of fun.
A few scribbles there and a few notches there, and she had drawn a nice sized magic circle on the ground with a piece of chalk she had come across. She had learned from John that chalk was far more effective than pens or markers. She hadn't planned on summoning demons or the like into the train. Gemma wasn't insane, but she was curious and that usually ended in trouble for just about everyone. The spell she was practicing was a summoning spell, but it was more to summon objects from another area in the room to her. It would be useful in any sort of encounter where she was out of reach of said chalk, spellbook, or other items that would prove effective against just about anything.
Slipping the chalk into the book, she closed it and set it aside. Rubbing her hands together, Gemma placed her hands against the markings and began to recite the spell she had thought she had memorized. Only she hadn't. Not perfectly. Which ended up causing a momentary puff of smoke, a quick flash, and a pile of dust where a lamp should have been.
"...Rubbish!" With a huff, she swatted at the dust, which only blew back in her face. The ruddy stuff was taunting her now!
