Who? Peeta Mellark & Luna Lovegood.
Where? Palour Car (#5)
When? Thursday afternoon.
What? Art therapy.
Warnings? Mockingjay spoilers, maybe some traumatic memories resurfacing, PTSD etc.
As more days went by on the train, Peeta was no closer to discovering what was real and what he'd made up in his own head. He still wasn't even certain that the train was real - he couldn't be sure that the Capitol hadn't put him here to send him away. He couldn't be sure that the view was real - he'd seen Capitol windows that could show you... any view you liked. There was no real reason for him to believe it.
And then there was Katniss - how could he feel safe on the train when that mutt was walking free? Spreading her lies? It was unsettling. He was almost afraid to get friendly with anyone, afraid that Katniss would attack. He'd barely left his room - he scared himself sometimes. Katniss had him so on edge that he'd found himself snapping at other passengers - the other hijacked, the people who were meant to be safe, people who claimed that they wanted to help him. He couldn't trust his own mind anymore. He stayed in his room, pacing, trying to sleep, staring out of the windows at the 'view', arguing with himself more and more frequently.
He'd managed to change into some spare clothes eventually - some jeans, a loose-fitting t-shirt - but he had been unable to remove the hospital tag from his wrist, which was now frayed from his attempts with the scissors, but still declared him Mentally Disorientated - Mellark, Peeta. The only facts he could accept as true.
Still, he was never going to figure it out if he just hid in his room, hoping that it would all go away, so after a couple of days he decided to resurface. He moved cautiously, and only made it one car over before he encountered someone else. A young female, she looked about his age. He hovered in the doorway for a moment, just observing her. She certainly didn't look threatening.
