Since entering the room when William came to get him, he remained at the foot of the bed, unmoving. His eyes were on her body and as always with Antonin, his face was a blank canvas, something he had mastered well over the years. He listened to her attempt his name and ask why, but neither recognition or question, he answered. Many would speculate, and many HAD speculated, that Antonin did not love or care for his wife. That was untrue. He did love her, he just didn't trust her as far as he could throw her and there had been instances where he had thrown her and she got maybe a good three feet, possibly four, from him.
Antonin had been there since he heard. He had sent out people to look for the werewolf and he remained at the hospital where he was given a choice of the baby surviving or Circe. He, of course, chose Circe even while the healers tried to speak to him to consider the mother's choices. But he remained firm and it seemed the answer was forced upon the healers as the child was stillborn and though it was not Antonin's? Antonin was a smart man, he knew of her other business, now he didn't know with whom and he really didn't care to seek it out but he knew. He gave the deceased baby girl his surname to keep his wife's dignity.
When her hand held out to him, he only continued to stare. As William moved to her side, Antonin stopped him. "Leave us." The strict male's voice pushed out, leaving the boy to look up at him with uncertainty.
"You will not question me." Came his strict tone again that had William nod and walk out, closing the door behind him. Antonin stood for a moment longer before moving to the side of the bed, careful to take a seat and allowed her hand to slide in his.
"Your child had died." Antonin felt no need to hide it from her. "It will be buried in the family cemetery under my own mercy and has been given my surname. This will not be your only obstacle of course, Fenrir Greyback all but ripped you in two. It is uncertain other than the scarring you have, what you will come to suffer from his disease."
He continued looking her over before he allowed a rare moment where his walls dropped, only a little and her hand was raised to his lips and kissed. "I will, much like I have been, take care of you. I do not want to know what you were doing back with him. His life is up for a bounty so whatever the reason, we will never have to face again. But you will become a proper wife to me, Circe. We've had our problems but I have been a proper husband, accepting your fault and I deserve the same courtesy. Do you not agree?"
