Giving himself a minute to collect his thoughts, he did the last thing he could think of doing – and changed into Padfoot. He hadn’t done this out in the open before, for fear of his form either being recognised, or being feared, but he didn’t care about any of that anymore. He could cover more ground on four legs than two, plus his sense of smell was more keen as a dog than as a person. Almost instantly he got a faint scent of Embry, and followed it through the streets carefully. But as he reached a street he had never been on before, it wasn’t her smell that told him where she was – it was her terrified scream, and adrenaline filled him, and he pelted forward. Seeing Fenrir leaning over her and snarling, he growled and barked angrily, bearing his teeth and he knocked into the side of Fenrir, knocking him off slightly, and bit into his arm, hard. Thrown to the aside, as Fenrir was larger than him, Sirius allowed himself to be completely revealed as he turned human again, grabbing his wand from his pocket.
“Sectumsempra!” He shouted, slashing his wand in Fenrir’s direction. Hoping to have slowed Fenrir down, he turned his attention to Embry instead. “You’re okay, I promise, you’re both okay.” His voice was shaking, and he heard movement, shooting another spell in Fenrir’s direction, this one missing by inches to only scrape the hairs on his head. Sirius quickly turned to face Fenrir, holding his wand out. “Brother or not, don’t think I’m against killing you for a second, werewolf.”
