Lily had been pacing around the house, snapping at anyone in her way ever since Albus and Scorpius were both out of her line of sight, which considering the density of the woods, was not very long at all. Oh, she was in an awful mood, and while she ate her dinner with everyone else, the look on her face was not dissimilar to the one she wore during her last few years at Hogwarts when she felt isolated and vulnerable – it told people to not mess with her if they wanted to avoid being bullied. And it worked, as she was left alone – or at least she told herself that was why no-one was talking to her. She hated not being among friends – at least the Slytherin girls at school put up with her attitude, because they had very much the same. She wouldn’t have ever told them, but she needed them.
Eventually she took to sitting in the lounge staring towards the door, and when that grew too much she fell asleep curled up on the couch, and it wasn’t until she heard commotion that she looked in her journal and saw that they were both back. And almost instantly, she was back to her old self. Was she going to rise to her brothers insults? No. She was going to do the hard thing and trust Belle’s judgement. That things would improve if they stopped pushing eachother, and if it had to be one of them to stop it, Lily thought, it would have to be the person who was the most mature – herself. So instead of letting him push her, she moved to her husband’s entry, and teased him some. She appreciated his going and getting her brother, but she liked to push him, just to see how possessive he would get before she gave in. She liked to hear it. How much he wanted her, and eventually, she gave in and headed through to her bedroom.
Scorpius was facing the window, and she slipped her shirt over her head as she approached him, then pressed her body to his, wrapping her arms around his waist. He was tense. Every muscle in his body seemed hard, and she closed her eyes, resting her chin on his shoulder. “Shh…” She whispered, her hands moving from his waist to his shoulders. Her wand at her side, she waved it a little in the direction of the walls, casting a silencing charm so that they couldn’t be heard through the walls. She knew hearing the noises she’d be making tonight would do nothing to help her and her brother’s relationships being mended, as she knew exactly what a tense Scorpius was going to be like. She pulled him back slightly, pointing him towards the bed, and once he was lying down, she balanced herself carefully on his stomach, and started rubbing his shoulders, trying to release the tension in them. “Was it really that bad, baby? Let me give you a massage, see if that helps okay? And then we can do whatever you want because I love you, I love you so much.”
