Jill felt as if she were walking into the room naked. Not meaning that all eyes were on her, no, more like when you have those dreams that you're suddenly naked in a room full of people. You feel vulnerable. That's what she felt. Without any sort of weapon on her (aside from two bobby-pins to serve as a make-shift lock pick), she felt as vulnerable as the day she was born.
True she had some combat skills to utilize if the situation got tough, and her intelligence was what she relied on to get her through problematic situations in the past, but with no weapons on hand she was at a disadvantage. Chris and Barry were both men, and although Jill hardly thought of herself as inferior to either of them, or her opponents, she could not deny that they were biologically stronger than her. She was quite strong for the average female and had extensive defense, as well as offense training. But put up against a male with the same training as her, and she couldn't be so positive she'd prevail. She'd have to rely on her wits if things turned for the worse...
But that was all just negative thinking. So far nothing horrible had happened. Everything was incredibly sketchy and suspicious, but nothing that would solidify her doubts that this was a bad idea. Still, her gut told her otherwise... It wouldn't hurt to at least be on guard through all of this.
Following Chris into the designated meeting room, Jill made note of all the possible exits and furniture that could be used as either a weapon or cover. Just in case. And of the ominous looking man already seated in the room... He hardly looked trustworthy... Jill's doubt reflected in her eyes as she looked up at Chris when he turned his head, then nodded at Barry after his proposal. Jill took a seat at the table, her body stiff and still on guard. God only knew what was to come...
