There was no direct response forthcoming to the inflammatory comment, almost as if the other speaker hadn't heard it; or, like the machine Wesker had likened him to, he was simply following his code.
"Wong isn't answering your calls. She has reasons."
Another beat of silence, before the voice emerged from the silence again, "Spencer wants to see you."
The wording made it sound as if Spencer was ordering the maverick employee to him. The usage was intentional: if anything else, HUNK knew that Wesker had itched to get out from under the head of the corporation, and the implication that his former boss still had power, even a modicum over him, would likely rankle Wesker.
That, and it would tell him whether or not Wesker intended to come. If he did, then all for the better. If not, then HUNK had more work to do in the future.
