There's no reason not to tell Nicholai, he thinks even as he forces a semi-unresponsive right leg to move, the toe of the boot catching on the ground and scuffing before it falls into a more normal pace.
For now, as they're still covered by the trees, he lets the other soldier support him. The last thing he needs is another Umbrella employee catching sight of this and suggesting he wasn't fit to do this job.
It was all he had left.
The observation was like a bucket of ice water on him. His mind cleared and hardened, forcing the pain and sluggishness in his body to the back. The dark was serving him well.
He forced the two to slow as they reached the edge of the wood. Even as Nicholai lends support, he can feel that will to kill radiating off of him. He unwinds himself from the other soldier, staggers, but catches himself, bent at the waist to prop his elbows on his knees.
Recover.
He looks up at Ginovaef, and sees the warring emotions on his face. Wariness, a breed of concern, hatred pulling the corners of his mouth and deepening the lines of his eyes.
Full disclosure.
"A new monitoring technique of Umbrella-"
LaRock testily repeats "-please acknowledge," over the radio, breaking HUNK off. He pauses, mutters a few lines into the radio.
He lets his head hang for a moment, just breathing. Then, he straightens, the strength in his body returning. Looks Ginovaef in the eye. "It's in the form of a serum, injected in the blood stream to bond with your body. You get the idea."
He scans the area, looking for anybody who's taken it upon themselves to see if HUNK was alright. "It tracks body status, records data.
"Mostly untested."
Ginovaef is bright. He'll get why the sudden and uncharacteristic spout of weakness.
