When Lana didn’t say anything else, didn’t look scared and didn’t even try to move, irritation rose in Kur. He wanted a reaction, damn darn it! He didn’t go through all the trouble of spying on Lana and carefully abducting her for her to lay there and act like he wasn’t even standing over her.
“You’re ready, huh?” His smile grew wider, until it looked demented. “Let’s see how ready you are.” Kur kicked her in the stomach, aiming at driving the breath out of her. Then he stepped on her wand hand, shifting his weight back and forth until he heard the delicate bones in fingers break. Kur would try to smash her hopes of escape sooner rather than later, so that she would be more fun to play with. Maybe he would make false promises, that if she played along with him, he would let her go. Or maybe not. He’d never had a toy all to himself like this before, and he almost didn’t know what to do, with so many options open to him.
