I can relate, Dr. Reed. It's hard sometimes to explain yourself when your mind is always going and feels like it's 20 steps ahead of where you were each second. But it's not a bad thing! As for being popular, sometimes that's not the point. Doing what you can to save people is- though come to think of it, I always have trouble with that part.

Whether it is a person or not isn't the point. Creating a life like this never ends well. Daleks. Cybermen. Any other form of unethical experiments that have to lead to something like this. Sure, sometimes it works out and you end up with an AI who gained consciousness and morality of their own free will, but odds are that is not the point of this little experiment.
We could always let them try. Doesn't mean we set them up for success, though. Make them think you helped, but make sure what they are doing doesn't cause any further damage.
