Actually hearing him speak instead of just seeing the words on the little screen, coupled with him standing there before her knocked the wind out of Katniss. After everything that had happened, the way things had ended and then simply never continued on only to be reunited inside of this house was throwing her more off kilter than she had truly expected it to. She wasn't sure whether she wanted to scream at him or hug him tightly. They had been best friends and then they had just existed as two different people who never spoke to each other again. Maybe that changed back home in the future, but they were two very stubborn people and she doubted that it really would.
So she settled on doing neither and focused on untying the cot and setting it down against the wall before letting the kitten out to roam for a bit again. "I found her this morning. And then had a conversation with a lady about someone having set a trap with knives." Good to know the House was designed to injure if not actually kill them.
"Just another day really." Except here she wasn't surrounded by the dead except for in her dreams. "But you found ashes?"
